today at the World Metaphors Classic the leader of the USA didn't bother to find out the details of the situation his team was in and blindly assumed they would win a matchup they ended up losing, jeopardizing their long-term standing for no good reason

If you get into a βwho can cut taxes moreβ battle with the GOP, youβre going to lose because they are far more shameless and antagonistic to the idea of living in a functioning society.
Donβt concede to their framing that taxes are nothing but a problem to be solved.

FWIW the brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso is a) delicious, b) a straight-up menu item at Starbucks, it just doesn't have a short name, c) substantially less delicious when made with real milk (I make them at home all the time now and have done tests)

I think the 2023 Houston mayoral runoff really stuck the idea of runoff adverse selection in my head, but that was a general, even if it felt like a primary because mayor is a nonpartisan race.

From the TX Secretary of State website's voter FAQs:
Q: Can I vote in one party's primary election and another party's primary runoff election?
A: No. By voting in a partyβs primary election, a voter has affiliated themselves with that party and is ineligible to participate in the convention or primary runoff election of another party during that calendar year. (§§162.012, 162.013).
In case any other Texans had the same idea as me...

Drivers complaining about having to pay for public and active transport is like ordering all the most expensive items on the menu, refusing to share it, splitting the bill and then complaining about having to pay for everyone else's meal of one serving of breadsticks.

Do you know if there is a similar county skew for the R vote? My intuition would be any urban counties would lean Cornyn, but probably not nearly the same magnitude of e.g. Dallas-Harris spread as on the D side.

As a Talarico fan I've been glad to have her in the race. Both candidates/campaigns have IMO done a great job of presenting their case without resorting to friendly fire. If anything the lack of animosity between them has seemed to piss off pundits, hence some of the pot stirring from without.

But the modern artificial intelligence boom might have solved the problem. Not with, like, AI agents matching buyers and sellers, blah blah blah, but more simply: Everyone on Earth has an opinion about AI valuations, so if you want to go long or short OpenAI, all you have to do is open your window and shout βIβm $730 bid on $1 million of OpenAIβ and a passerby will shout βdoneβ and youβll have a trade. The entire world is one big open-outcry trading floor for synthetic AI trades.
