Asheville & WNC Protests

Unconfirmed reports of ICE in Asheville today. I don’t have any other details, yet, please share if you do. Stay vigilant and stay safe.

Waynesville, here's your call to action for June 14th:

Asheville, here is your call to action for the next nationwide protests on June 14: No Clowns, No Kings! 1:30-3:30 in Pack Square Amphitheater, and this'll be a fun one - essentially an anti-Trump carnival! Family-friendly fun, a chance to raise money for a good cause, and let your voice be heard!

Go McDowell County!! Pride is a celebration, but it also started as, and remains, now more than ever, a protest!

Not sure if anyone is organizing for this in WNC specifically, but it's a statewide call to action and Tillis DOES have a field office in Hendersonville - would be great to see folks show up there this afternoon!

Tuesday 6/3 is the last chance (for this budget year...but we all know when things get cut, they don't usually come back) to show up for your public schools and turn up the pressure on the commissioners to make sure our kids, families, and educators get what they need!

Will also soon have news about a Brevard protest, but C.E. owns a total of 7 McD's in WNC. Would love to see ppl protest at the Spartanburg Hwy location (or any other), but don't want to send anyone there alone - pls lmk if you want to protest there (any day/time)! (3/3)

Bring your friends, bring your signs, and be ready to explain to potential McDonald's customers why there's a protest on that particular bit of sidewalk - we have had many conversations that have convinced people to eat (and spend their money) elsewhere! (2/3)

Tomorrow is Thursday, another chance to protest Chuck Edwards' business interests! Just look at how Elon Musk has changed his tune - this type of protest works! (1/3)

Postcard pop-up this evening (Wed May 7)! I’ll be at Hi-Wire Brewing (Big Top/Biltmore Village location) w/ supplies to write postcards to our elected officials & info about upcoming protests and groups organizing locally, from 4:30pm until the end of their trivia night (~8:30pm). Come join me!

Asheville Community Resistance! Small but growing! Last week we had about 20 people which made the sidewalk in front of the first location pretty much filled up, hence the second location, and we’re going to be handing out flyers at the Hvl May Day protest to hopefully get some folks there that way!

Starting this week, protests against Chuck Edwards' business interests are expanding to a second location! Join us every Thursday from 5pm-7pm and encourage people to spend their money elsewhere until he remembers he works for the people of WNC and not Donald Trump or Elon Musk!

May Day protests across WNC! Hendersonville at 1pm in front of the courthouse, Asheville at 3pm in Pack Square, and more in Boone, Sylva, etc.!

TOMORROW, Friday 4/11, HANDS OFF OUR UNIONS! Protest at the Asheville Federal Building at noon!

Next national day of action is 4/19 - Asheville will once again be gathering in Pack Square!

Get ready to join us tomorrow (and get very Thursday!) from 5pm-7pm in front of Chuck Edwards’ McDonald’s franchise on Four Seasons Blvd (right off the highway in Hendersonville) and if you’re lucky, one of these signs could be yours!
