So the knives are out for Michael Martin. McGuinness and Lahart both calling for change in FF leadership. I suspected something would happen after the election but not as quick as this.

Get outta here with your logic. I found myself yelling something similar when I saw Peader Tobin being interviewed on RTE
What I love about that, is despite writing in those names, they didn't actually vote for them and actually seem to imply they're voting for the three candidates actually on the ballot...
So the early tallies for #aras25 are showing a comprehensive victory for @catherinegalway.bsky.social
I thought this was going to be a referendum on the government but the Humphreys campaign made it a referendum on divisive politics. Glad to see the Irish people rejected that very comprehensively
I can't keep listening to Heather Humphreys crowbar in the same sound bytes over and over again, "it's a rural pursuit", "I'm sorry I didn't live up to what they expected". The fact she can't say anything without using a rehearsed sound bytes underlines why she shouldn't be president. #aras25
The knives will be out for Michael Martin now, Brian Kelleher was the obvious FF man to run, Gavin was Michael Martins candidate. #aras25
I think the clear thing this debate has shown is that it's a referendum on the government. Connolly is able to speak freely on topics, both Gavin and Humphrey struggling to get canned answers out that don't offend their friends in government. #aras25 #TonightVMTV
In relation to the occupied territories bill and why the government is endlessly delaying it, Humphrey says "but would it really matter". Sums up our governments real opinion on taking concrete action against an ongoing genocide #aras25 #TonightVMTV
So the first part of the debate has really shown that Humphrey's and Gavin really look uncomfortable. They're desperate to avoid going against the party line but also to avoid ignoring the question. Connolly has had the most natural reactions and has actually answered questions #aras25 #TonightVMTV
There are some publishers out there who are just as guilty about spreading blatant false information, some with Leinster House credentials that were recently called out. Part of the problem is they delete them when the truth is well known.
The speed that misinformation was spread about what happened in #Carlow yesterday is another example of the weaponisation of social media by the far right. I wish people who get influenced by far right narratives would be introspective about what they believe before the actual facts are known
Completely agree, feels like such an own goal saying that about Musk on his own platform.
I do hope that @gavreilly.com will start posting more on Bluesky and less on Twitter. I really enjoy your your content but I can't go to that site anymore.
But how will they remember their heritage?
Any idea when the postal votes are sent out? Still not received anything at my new address despite updating it a few months before the election.
Honestly, it sounds like you don't understand how PR-STV works yourself. Your non-transferable vote means that whoever is ahead at the point your vote is dropped will have a higher chance of winning the seat. If you PREFER one candidate over the other, you should be transferring to another candidate
Yeah exactly that. There is less and less difference between the two parties at this point
FG transfers from #exitpoll for #GE24 #GE2024
Transfers from FF in the #exitpoll for #GE24 #GE2024
FF and FG saying they don't think there was a mood for change, when more than 55% of the country voted for non-government parties #GE2024
Second preference breakdown from the #exitpoll for #GE2024 #GE24
If this #exitpoll for #ge24 is accurate, this would be FF's second worst GE result ever. Could this be the end of MM leadership of FF? #GE2024
#GE24 Exit Poll
Just voted in DBN in #ge24, turnout seemed good according to my local election workers, from the two pages that I saw there were only 10 or 15 names who hadn't been crossed out.
Completely agree, this debate overall has been a terrible format, very little time to discuss anything with any seriousness and the moderators are preventing any real discussion by hopping from topic to topic without properly engaging a topic.
