- Hmmm, not bad. But you did go overboard with that dynamite, Johnny. Rest in pieces my friends. (Part 3 of 3)

- You were right, Plan B is even worse. We should have gone with the dynamite!
(Part 2 of 3)
- Bob, this plan A of yours really sucks!

(Part 1 of 3)
This is all 3d done with blender and eevee, human made.
Creatively, the highlight would be that fight when she is still in 2 parts. Really inventive.
Low point would be lighting and grade - it has as much color and diversity and appeal as a muddy puddle on a cloudy day. Does not feel like alien planet, more like a november thursday.
1/ Funny how Predator Badlands feels like it would be a much better movie if it was not trying to be a Predator movie. There is a lot to enjoy there, but the heart of the movie is Thia, not Dek. She feels so... alive, and that is great to watch.
- Wind traders and their ships, sooo into that stuff.
- Quaritch going native
- The fat that, Quaritch being a brave man, and the only thing he fears is Neytiri and how clearly visible that is, in his eyes, body language, every time they meet...
- Frenemy interactions, Quaritch/Jake, Neytiri/Ronal, could watch way more of that
- Acting
- Neytiri
- Varang and Ashley
- Neytiri dealing with gunships in her own special way, so satisfying, even cathartic to watch
- No plan, just Neytiri ;)
I liked the third Avatar move immensely. Some highlights:
- Lighting (Hard sun! Dappled shadows! Legible and beautiful bight shots! Unthinkable today ;P)
- Every time Varang appears, the lighting is a level or two better than the excellent baseline ;)

LNG carrier being demolished on (I suspect) an Indian or Bangladeshi beach. Perhaps surprisingly - and it's an arresting image - the bow has been sliced off first to reveal an intact, pearl-shaped gas tank. My facetious joke about caviar harvesting isn't actually too far off the mark - with a large part of the tanks being aluminium these are valuable hulks to process and recycle.
Despite extensive research into alternatives, harvesting the caviar from Liquefied Natural Gas carriers still requires the death of the ship
Loved the F1 movie . A great movie movie, but really, it makes me feel seen. I don't race cars, but I do ride bikes, make art or walk the streets with a camera, chasing those fleeting moments when it all goes quiet and it feels like flying. Beautiful love letter to the flow state.
Dead Reckoning was good, but quite a bit more serious than I expected. I do miss the mission humour.
More importantly, it now feels like M:I almost exists in the same universe as Terminator - Entity, Skynet, always same ai monstrosity that needs to be killed.
It feels strange rewatching Secret Life of Walter Mitty and seeing the dark seeds of Severance already in there. Anyway, one of the favourites for sure.
Yes, it is visually great, timeless even. Also, those wide pov shots, look surprisingly modern today, with us used to gopro footage everywhere. And I cant shake the feeling that this funky absurd radio chatter had some influence on GTA ;P
Rewatching Spielbergs Duel... needles to say it's excellent. The tension, the framing and blocking of the shots, that monstrous truck, great stuff. Only redundant thing is the voiceover that pops up sometimes. The visuals depict inner thoughts very precisely, no need for words.
Who came up with the idea that typing in natural language is the right way to create, edit and interact with images? Not to mention working with 3d scenes... This is so dumb and inefficient and frustrating, there is a reason we moved on from commandline interfaces years ago...
Hard to disagree with that ;)

those walkarouds are great, lots of info and some very interesting people.
Fourty Four Forever! Inspired by a real place, real situation, somewhere in Czech Republic. Something seen driving by, the image stayed in my mind and grew a bit. Mech design is damn hard. Blender and some photoshop trickery and paintover. #b3d #blender
Awesome!
This semi-metallic finish is so sweet. How, in broad strokes, is it made, if you don't mind sharing ?

Credits links on Artstation, as I used a lot of assets from sketchfab. Gotta love those museum collections there. Blender, Cycles, some paintover.

squint your eyes and it looks like a facehugger....
Maybe we should build a grassroots alternative to that corporate crap? Go back to forums maybe, and let ai users like ai posts and feed on itself until they die? It really was better in the old days....
"Rescue" - playing with a bit different, a bit more raw style. Sadly no motion this time. #b3d #blender3d #visdev #stylized #art #aviation #Rescue
