Early career researchers, please remember: journals aren't assessing how smart/thorough/whatever you are. They're trying to guess what is both good and something people are likely to read and cite.

True, they're not discerning, and it's the pathology of the most visible forms of wokeness that's enabling that
The far right doesn't go after the pathologically woke because they're a threat. They go after them because they make fantastically unpopular targets and a great distraction.
And this is similar to when people react to right wing attacks on hypertrophic wokeness by doubling down on it. Just because you make a good target doesn’t mean you’re doing something right. The opposite is more likely in this case.
The people who turned critical theory into toothless liberal moralism feel edgy again now because of the rise of authoritarianism. That is backwards. Far right anti-establishment politics is, in part, a response to the lack of a credible left alternative to the (neo)liberal blob.
Pairs of theorists one has to choose to as travel neighbours. The only correct answer is Marx and Nietzsche.
Tragically, for quite a few people this isn’t a no brainer
