Deserves to be a print!

I’ll take the snow over pollen any day.

(As I am buried in used tissues and antihistimines).

It’s in the print edition. A co-worker was reading it yesterday before a staff meeting. They can’t pull back all the copies.

An orange plastic tub with a white lid and orange handle. Special Kitty, 14 kg of scoopable kitty litter. Which is pumpkin spice scented.
I only saw this abomination once, on the shelves of a Walmart. It is, by all practical measures, a terrible idea. A cat does not desire its litter to be scented with β€œpumpkin spice” and this may actually cause the cat to avoid using the litter box if they find the scent objectionable.

A book! A book! A white book cover with a black silhouette of city sky scrapers and a central chasm. The point of the chasm points to a red drop of blood which hovers over the white silhouettes of two people.
The title is β€œPagans” by James Alistair Henry. Other text on the cover proclaims β€œthe Times top ten bookseller” and a quote β€œEnjoyably nasty and frequently very funny.” -the FT, and the following β€œTwo cops. One killer. Hundreds of gods.”

Look what finally arrived!! (At the packet shop, which was then closed for carnevale/mardi gras and Ash Wednesday).

Can’t wait to read!

I worked with the Elementary GT teacher to put on a STEAM day at my kid’s school- lots of stations with volunteers (some pro’s and some parents with a sheet of instructions). The strawberry DNA station was so fun my parents volunteers called dibs on teaching it the next year. Kids loved it too!

The Euro has been legal tender for over half of this person’s life.

β€œWhat currency does [fill in name of country] use?”

β€œThey use the Euro. They are part of the EU.”

β€œOh, like [names European country not in the EU]?”

β€œNoβ€” just, no, that country isn’t part of the EU.”

Overhearing the Fire Base Mayor talking on the phone to his sister. He’s trying to explain what is so different (and what we’ll miss) living in Europe.

He just explained to her (a grown adult) that multiple countries here use the Euro, including the one we live in and the one we are visiting.

Massive stars in our Milky Way Galaxy live spectacular lives. Collapsing from vast cosmic clouds, their nuclear furnaces ignite and create heavy elements in their cores. After only a few million years for the most massive stars, the enriched material is blasted back into interstellar space where star formation can begin anew. The expanding debris cloud known as Cassiopeia A is an example of this final phase of the stellar life cycle. Light from the supernova explosion that created this remnant would have been first seen in planet Earth's sky about 350 years ago, although it took that light 11,000 years to reach us. This sharp NIRCam image from the James Webb Space Telescope shows the still-hot filaments and knots in the supernova remnant. The whitish, smoke-like outer shell of the expanding blast wave is about 20 light-years across. A series of light echoes from the massive star's cataclysmic explosion are also identified in Webb's detailed images of the surrounding interstellar medium.

They (Cory and Korey) had a great match against Norway and came away with the win on the last end.

I think my pre-ordered copy is lost in international shipping. Considering my options to try again… traveling to the UK is (unfortunately) not a near term option.
