The Green Party's Mothin Ali on the importance of community spaces and how the Green Party has a plan to invest Β£5 billion to revive them #C4News
"People are angry, our country is divided. And I get it"
"One of the main reasons is the loss of our country's social infrastructure"
FACTS:
Net Zero barely nudges your bill.
Fossilβfuel wars send it through the roof.
So when Farage and his ilk slags off renewables while fanning conflict, remember who actually hikes your costs.
This is the London Array, one of the worldβs largest offshore wind farms.
It generates enough electricity to power 584,000 British homes.
Only clean, renewable energy can deliver true British energy sovereignty and free us from the ruinous influence of the fossil fuel industry.
Meanwhile, the price remains unchanged of the 173,000 terawatts of the sun's energy (10,000 times more than humans use) that is continuously striking Earth at every moment.
Youβd think in this era of βMPs face increasing dangerβ there would be more outrage at newly elected Green MP Hannah Spencer being assaulted by transphobes but itβs nowhere to be seen on BBC News app even if you search her name
Gloomy but beautiful by my North Norfolk river this morning.
Wherever you are, I hope this week will be kind to you.
Yesterday I filmed several baby birds walking across a street directly at my camera and asked Bluesky to suggest music
Several dozen folks did
Some even dubbed music over the original clip.
I haven't been able to get this out of my head.
So I give you

Full solidarity with Hannah Spencer, this is absolutely disgraceful behaviour.
This is a direct attack on our democracy, Hannah is an elected MP that has the right to walk free in the city she represents without these extremists behaving like thugs
This is what I could not get the Conservatives and Reform types at County Council to understand. Anyone who thinks home grown renewable energy is a waste of money and effort is ignoring the elephant in the room.
Not just climate change.

Itβs nonsense. 75% of our gas imports come from Norway, 17% from the US & just 1-2% from Qatar, so trying to squeeze a tiny bit more from North Sea fields thatβve been declining for decades will make no odds to security, global prices or tax receipts. assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/688a09...
Excellent article, even before it gets to the chaser about climate change at the end.
I'm not sure what normal is, but it isn't this.
I want the world to go back to normal. πͺ
I've been fortunate enough to meet many formidably smart, fully committed, & thoroughly decent people who, for years, have strived to try to avert dangerous climate change.
They failed.
Saying that does not lessen my gratitude to them, 1/11

Some of the key science was done by the oil and gas companies themselves. This means the actual solution β fossil fuel phase out - which has been staring us in the face all this time, still represents the surest route to safety. 8/11
I sometimes find people surprised by my sense of optimism about the future. I seem to be wanting to take possible solutions off the table. Whatβs left? My answer would be: reality. For decades we have known that if we continue to pour greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, we risk catastrophe. 7/11

Imagine a world where, instead of financing fossil fuels and deforestation, banks invest in climate-positive solutions, such as sustainable agriculture, electric vehicle networks, and renewable energy initiatives.
Check out these five fossil-free banking services doing just that and switch today!
What we really should be frantically checking the news for. If at all.
I think this is one reason the #GreenParty is resonating. Many people are feeling this.
Fuck, that graph is startling and bleak

The funding gap between Reform UK and the Greens is astounding.
New Electoral Commission stats today reveal the reportable donations in Q4 2025:
π’ Green Party: Β£189,010
π£ Reform UK: Β£5,456,000
Greens are bringing in barely 3.5% of Reform UK's large donations - but still polling around 20%.
Young adults face unemployment, low wages, debt.
Govt can help, adopt Scottish policies
No university tuition fees.
No prescription charges (also in Wales)
Free bus travel for the under-22s, many on low minimum wage.
Treating young adults in England as second class is a political choice.
That's really interesting. Thank you. I had never heard of them before the by-election.
