6/ HDRI wasn't invented for viewing purposes, it was designed to be used as a hidden tool in production.
5/ Modern viewing devices come with a pseudo-HDR setting, which imitates something that's not natural, in order to add more contrast-detail to the frame. Similar with sharpening, it's a post-effect, and looks like crap.
4/ Productions use 32-bit images to light the 3D environment realistically. The rendered output (final film) is never 32-bit, it's either 16 or 8 bits.
