It's about the roles and lives of women in the Alps, including:
- How generic male language in sources hides the presence of women
- βοΈ Female construction workers building roads across the Alps
-βοΈ A lord turning women into men (legally speaking)
This order withdraws the US from major environmental cooperation, including:
- Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC);
- Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES);
- International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
Meme. Charcoal drawing of an old dam and mill with an overshot feed. The mill actually has two wheels, but there is only water running over one of them Below the mill, surrounding the pond, are jagged rocks and broken building stones. The way that the drawing is done makes the buildings feel dilapidated, as if there are holes in the roofs and the the walls are in disrepair. But a closer look shows that, in fact, the buildings are intact and maybe even well taken care of. Eels can buy a lot of building maintenance, it seems. Behind the mill is a larger, two-story building. It looms ominously, like the shadow of a wicked thought. It's the sort of building that folks would warn you not to enter, because you don't want to end up like Bobby Crenshaw, do you? And you'd brush that aside an nonsense, until you stood on the threshold and felt the churning evil. Then you'd know fear, but too late. The mill would claim you. Meme text reads: "The eels didn't care They were dammed either way"
Why would you want a mill? For the eels, yo!
In 1211, William Blundell built a mill at Raven Meols & collected eels in rent from the miller. Later on, his family donated the mill to local monks. But they kept the rights to all those eels.
Some things gotta stay in the family!
Weβve today formally written to multiple public bodies about BBC reporting on transgender people.
Hereβs who weβve contacted and why. 1/6
Did medieval people buy each other Christmas gifts? New Year's Day was the main gifting day, but little is known about everyday people's present giving. Our project on London's customs records has uncovered a wealth of affordable items imported around this time: gloves and hats to toys and rattlesπ§΅
In light of the Levy Review potentially giving transphobes oversight of medical research on trans healthcare, Trans Safety Network recommend English trans people OPT OUT of their healthcare data being used in research.
Information on how to do this can be found in the quoted post and thread.
Conflating gender and biological sex is pseudo-science. Biological males can't become biological females, and vice versa, AND TRANS PEOPLE KNOW THAT. They are performing their preferred GENDER, not changing their SEX. You know, the same way cis men get hair plugs and cis women shave their legs.
It is 2025. The EHRC in the UK keeps trying to materialize a trans bathroom ban out of a muddled UKSC opinion third-sexing all trans people. A bill to criminalise those who provide trans minors with transition care passed in the US House of Representatives.
And cis "allies" still think this helps.
It's my pleasure to announce the Longlist for Best Transfeminine Fiction in the 2025 TFR Reader's Choice Awards!

How is it that healthcare decisions for trans people are influenced so heavily by cis people *with absolutely no relevant expertise, training or experience*?
In no other area of healthcare would this be tolerated. FOR GOOD REASON.
The paperback of Medieval Twitter has landed omfg
