Yes, and also Salt n Vinegar Discos. The flavour was strong at the bottom of the bag πŸ˜‹.

She's a good looking ship, but nothing prickly about her. No obvious guns? What am I missing in this Cruiser? Other than maybe her crew enjoyed a lovely cruise to South Africa...

Agree "buy well, buy once". My Zanussi washing machine is 17 years old, needed a deep clean of the internal water network, but haven't changed the pump or door seal yet. Would definitely buy another. 15yo AEG tumble dryer going strong too, but slowly getting clogged with fluff in the darkest parts😭

I don't think many people worry about salad in the summer months either...!

Thanks, that infamous saying hasn't reached my ears before!

Africa?

That's quite a poignant short film; the 2 other Lancs waiting, the acceleration as you can see the crew, tail lifting, then disappearing into the mist...

Good looking ship, although peculiarly long in my eyes 🧐.

Thanks for opening up the tower, really enjoyed peeking inside, and also the interesting stand outside too. Hopefully you're encouraged to open up again as I know plenty of people who weren't able to make it yesterday.

G. Always fancied living in South America, but Namibia might be fun to try.

Excellent work, well done Dan. I enjoy your posts, they're informative and very clear, highlighting wrongdoing without the hysteria.

Enjoy the Greatest Gathering, my son is there helping operate the Making Tracks layout of Milton Keynes, which is well worth seeing if you've got time. Just don't ask where all the people are!

Ah, but have you ever met another Alan Beattie? I deliberately got a gas fitter round to do some work at my house so I could get a cheeky photo beside his van with my name on. I had to persevere though, he thought my first answerphone message was a wind-up as I gave my name which matched his...

I remember you recently returned here, all of us ex-Twitter users were really chuffed, but we're aware you need reach to make your posts worthwhile. I've left Twitter and don't use Facebook, so will be disappointed (but understanding) if you leave πŸ˜₯. I said "bon chance" previously and will again πŸ‘.

Same Tiger you posted yesterday in the black and white image with the guy sheltering underneath!

What a thread, I'm sure it will be great, your previous runs will stand you in good stead. Sounds amazing, do report back, I bet there are many people out here who'd love to play!

Seriously underrated punditry. Wouldn't get this level of insight on MoTD 🧐

Lost my certificate years ago, I graduated in 1993. Needed it in October last year, but the employer contacted my Uni and got it sorted to avoid paying the replacement fee. 28 years of experience and a personal contact within the company didn't count for anything!

Thanks, don't see much of Ford; my grandfather was stationed there during D-Day, said the sky was black with planes going overhead.

Beaches were known as the "land/sea interface" at our Oceanography department 🀣. I recall a friend set up his equipment on the shore and went windsurfing for 2 hours. Tough period of field work!

Say what you like about french warships, but they could lay an amazing smokescreen.

Started reading Montserrat's Cruel Sea; it never fails to amaze me how small some vessels are when you have people for scale in the pictures. I always imagined Destroyers etc to be much larger boats.

Great picture. My son still dreams of becoming a driver, but I can't believe he doesn't want to do freight. Who wouldn't want to drive that? 😎

Agree, all un-earned income should be taxed according to the normal bands, we've got enough tech to automate all this to minimise opportunities to avoid paying.

Trying to identify what's on the conveyor. So far seen celery, peas, Andrew's Liver Salt, wine, Golden Syrup, Condensed Milk, prunes.

Much as I galls me to fill in & pay my self assessment (shares income & 1 rented property), I know it's the right thing to do. It also massively irritates me to know there are many people who simply don't bother. Will simplify my life and make it harder to avoid paying.
