This whole movie had my eyes welling & nose sniffling. So much love went into it & it was such a joy to watch.

A Common Toad sits motionless in the grass, staring dead ahead with a grumpy, resigned expression. Its squat, unimpressed face perfectly captures the Monday mood...tired, unbothered, and just surviving.

The official face of Monday.

Biodiversity Net Gain is meant to protect nature.

But right now, developers can skip it by ticking a box and writing a belief – not providing evidence.

No proof. No checks. No fixes for nature.

That’s the de minimis loophole – and it needs to go.

Male Capercaillie in pine forest

Male Capercaillie in pine forest

Encouraging news for one of our rarest birds πŸŽ‰

RSPB Abernethy has recorded 30 lekking male Capercaillie in 2025 – a 50% increase in five years.

There is still a long way to go, but through innovative habitat management and collaboration this threatened species could have a brighter future πŸ’ͺ

Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth abandons 2035 net zero pledge Rhun ap Iorwerth said the target is not realistic, after his party had committed to net zero by 2035.

Ahead of the May elections, @plaidcymru.bsky.social scale back their net zero ambitions. Poor and shortsighted from @rhunapiorwerth.bsky.social.

If they were hoping to win my vote they’ve made a huge backward step.

The rewilding movement needs to distance itself from bigots like Goldsmith.

There is no climate (and environmental) justice without social justice.

When these people show us who they are, we need to pay attention.

Further indictment that the conservation and rewilding need to drop further involvement with Goldsmith right now. Political allies for nature will not be found in the far right.

An Atlantic Puffin stands on a narrow, rocky cliff ledge streaked with lichen and tufts of grass. Its black back and white chest contrast with the pale stone, and its bright orange bill catches the light. The blurred backdrop of steep coastal rock faces hints at a rugged seabird colony, one of the special coastal habitats that provide vital nesting sites for wildlife.

Which is why the habitats they fight to return to must be protected.

Weakening protections for key sites for nature would push our already struggling wildlife closer to collapse.

Yet the UK Government is considering doing just that.

getting mad about that 'nobody should read books from more than 50 years ago' thing again after thinking about Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle" and the effect it had on me when I was a teenager.
