I have complicated and sometimes conflicting feelings about MtG and UB, but as always Donny has good insight and has a solid take on the thing. Thanks Donny!

I know this is a big step for you to take, not completely both-sidesing this. But honestly, fuck you for both-sidesing everything else, so that we got to this point. Fuck you.

It’s nothing earth shattering, just a lot of the commissions are a lot more specific to the mechanic now. They might request that she be draining the life force from a bear while her other hand turns into a bear claw, that kind of thing. Where this is more subtle and a great art piece as a result

Man Shelly Wan really did a great illustration here. It’s the kind of illustration that we rarely get away with now :(

For the past year I’ve been dedicating myself to doing more personal work. I was thrilled yesterday to hear that my painting Waking World was awarded 1st place in the β€œOutside the box” category in the Portrait Society of America Members Only Competition. Just wanted to share the good news :)

The rules say no AI, and while they can’t control what works get submitted, as a former juror I can say that to the best of my ability I weeded out AI where I saw it and ran some tests on others. I caught one artist, reported them, and they were disqualified

What started as turkey themed lunchbox notes for my kid is now touching on themes of mental health and collective bargaining… I think I might win an Eisner

Working on a new venture and going through old paintings. This was the 30"x40" painting I was working on when Jeremy Jarvis contacted me for my first MtG piece, Plains from M10. I guess I was painting flowers and figured I'd paint a few more!
