Added 2k words to the old Franken-novel... it's weird enough that I feel like I'll need a second set of eyes on it when I'm done to see if it's too weird. Now sitting at 28k words and looking forward to Friday.

Thanks to Chez for this cool review! In fact, thanks to anyone who has ever left me a cool review. Added 2k words to my Franken-novel, bringing it up to 26k words, which I guess is 10-percent of the way through if my plans and general lack of any idea of what is going on comes to fruition.
So grateful that Carnalis has received a STARRED REVIEW from Booklist! ๐ฅณ๐ฉท๐ฅฉ๐

Had a great time. Met some new folks, enjoyed the familiar, even if some of them don't like ska.
Here's the kickstarter for Don't Go For The Vault. Should be fun. I had a blast writing my story for it.
Excited to be a part of this project. Check out that kickstarter when you get a chance.
There's The Dirty Dozen, and then there's this... The Bloody Dozen. It's 1.25 million words and 4,652 pages of zombie action, the way it should be. Find your new favorite character... then watch them get eaten. Then find your next favorite character, and watch them... well, you get it.
This Rotten World 12: Burn It All Down is now live in ebook, paperback, and hardcover. If you haven't ever read this zombie series, it's time to start... I wouldn't keep writing them if people didn't keep buying them. Well, I might not write them so fast. I think I'll always be writing #zombies.
It's been a whole 3 and a half months since I last published a book. Finally, This Rotten World 12: Burn It All Down is here. The ebook just got approved, still waiting on approvals for the paperback and the hardcover.
Here's the cover for This Rotten World: Burn It All Down. Thanks to @roosterreppress.bsky.social and Don Noble for the cover. I keep throwing challenges at Don, and he keeps rising to the occasion. Love it. Nobody surprise drops a book like me. Files uploaded. Waiting for 'em to publish. Surprise!
Added 2k words to my Franken-novel. Now sitting at 17k words. I'm languishing in this process, enjoying the writing, and freely committing words to character development and thought, instead of being economical for artificial word-count guidelines. Interested to see where this goes.
Never been nominated for an award before. I don't ask for 'em, don't campaign for 'em, so this is cool. Thanks for the nom for We Like It Cherry Small Spec Book Awards.

Remember to share with someone weird... especially if they're a writer, an editor, or all-around weird. bizarrocon.com
You now have only 8 days before the price of Bizarrocon increases. I'll post a link to the info in the comments. It's a blast to hang out with writers on the cutting edge of thought and craft. You can level up a lot just by being around some of these people. Check it out. Hope to see you in May.
Been revising this novella. Now at 22/39 pages on it. The opening was pretty sloppy, as is usual for my pantsing self, but it flows pretty smooth as I get deeper into the story. After I'm done working on this novella, it's back to the old Franken-novel. Happy Friday! Weird ghost novella action.
Hey friends! I'm a bit low on funds here so I'm opening my editing up for any interested writers. I'm only looking at developmental editing or proofreading at projects 10K or fewer words. If you've got something you'd like me to take a look at, email me at kasilva@katherinesilvaauthor.com. Thanks!
Do you feel alone? Do you need writer friends who are just as weird as you are? Then join us in Portland for Bizarrocon where writerly misfits have a good time and grow their skills, and make off-color jokes. If you're a writer looking for their strange tribe, you should check it out.
Man, I just can't make myself watch it.
I know this feeling well.
Woke up on my day off, finished off a novella. Came in at 18k words. I saved space for a couple thousand words for when I revise, because I always add more. Hope to have the end of the week. It's a trippy one. Someone'll like it.
Thanks to Michele for the great review of One-Shot. This one came out to very little fan-fare, but I think it's right up there with my most recent works. Cosmic, Indigenous, misanthropic horror, as funny as it is gory. Get dark, sucker!
Got a nice review for We Like It Cherry. Hope people keep finding it. Proud of this one. Thanks, Stephanie!
New substack went out. I talk about dogsitting my friend Hank and the people who live in the walls of his house. Plus movie and book reviews.

Been working on a weirdo horror novella. Pulled it from my 4-novel Franken-novel to do for an open submission. Now at 15.5k words. Wrote 5.5k words today, 4k yesterday. Been flying through it, and now I've come to the end. Will slow down, and mellow out on the ending, but I love what I have so far.
ICYMI Plott Hound Magazine publishes all kinds of animal POVs and protagonists.
We've seen a lot of cats, dogs, crows, and dragons.
But we love a wide variety of mammal, avian, reptile, arachnid, fish, amphibian, insect, parasite, dinosaur, mythical, (animalistic) alien species, and chimera.
I don't write a lot of love stories... but this is one of them. Remember, this Valentine's Day, We Like It Cherry.
Wrote a little bit, finished off a short story I'm contracted for, and then signed some paperwork for something cool. Now to make it through the rest of the day, and then get home to watch some Friday the 13th flicks. My preference of Friday movies, 2, 4, 5, 1, 3, 8, 6, The remake, 9, 10, FvsJ, 7.
