'What do you believe was the best economic policy change that was put in place by council since the last election and how would you continue to build on it?'

Ex. Patriarchy, white supremacy, religious ideology, etc.
I think I give myself a headache around people who appeal to things like anti social activities or the social contract because none of them seem to have the understanding that all these things change, and are typically just extended functions of the state or some sort of oppressive group
Being trans is good and also a violation of the social contract and that's part of why some people hate trans existence.
So understandable
Yeah, I have to toe the line in a way that makes them believe (accurately in my perception) that they should reply.
I love that question, but I think it's too assertive and gives candidates an excuse to ignore the email entirely.
Do you have the personal number of any councilors?
Thinking about just calling this good for questions so I can actually finish it and send it out. Thoughts?
Reminder
One thing I've really learned while working in mental health is how to explore and address the "why?" Around behaviors in a neutral instead of just judging the behavior and not caring about how it came to happen.
Today's a good day to ruin some rainbows and boobs!
Are people who commit bad acts bad people?
I love how you've boiled this down to "it's bad when I think it's bad, it's not when I think it's not"
The American right is heavily invested in the myth that progressives only oppose the war in Iran because we do not want freedom for Iranians
Selfie on the number 39 bus heading into city hall. Red lights on and all bundled up
Itβs going to be a wet week out on our roads. Stay safe and consider taking transit to work. Itβs sustainable, safe and pushes back against fossil fuel dependence.
I wish it was more shocking to me.
But that might be too much to expect from people who just want to hear "x is bad"
there is literally nothing wrong with being trans and anyone who says otherwise is a fascist who would kill and/or enslave your entire family at a moment's notice
I appreciate your ability to stand by your values even in the face of powerful people
In light of the Mercury article I guess Iβll just name this was Laurie Wimmer.
Standing up for Palestine early on had consequences, and I donβt regret it. I have to face myself in the mirror each day, despite politics and consequences.
I believe if we do that, the people will rally behind us.
Also, the idea that it's illegal to look at someone's phone in public is incredible.
HellyR_lumon 12m ago Top 1% Commenter Yep. Spying on phones and illegally obtaining private communications seems to be the Mercury's current MO. They also did this to John Hollister, posting his personal messages on BlueSky and mocking him. I heard people are now sitting in the back to minimize risk of having their phone spied on. This is really unacceptable as City Hall should be a safe space. The Merc is going to get sued one day as they continue to libel people and commit crimes for their blogs articles.
I have suspicions about this person's real life identity *cough*Talia*coughcough* but I had to share because the idea that regular people are sitting in the back of the room to make sure the mercury doesn't catch them messaging council members is hilarious.
Yeah, I think there's a group of local voters who really think that people don't want local politicians standing against Trump and not realizing that standing against Trump is hugely popular.
I think you don't trust people in general.
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see who pulls it through. No idea how most people feel about Zimmerman.
I feel a lot of Internet people who say they want a high trust society really want a society where they don't feel impacted by others behavior at any point.
They want to trust that no one will bother them.
But you implicitly don't trust people.
I do kinda wonder if there would be any significant difference between the two.
No thanks
