Unlike the baitball segment from LOOP E01 (which emphasizes 'convergence of lineages' and fails to articulate even that), #TheDinosaurs 's first segment aims only to immerse the audience and show the full diversity of dinosaurs at the peak of their reign. It does both splendidly.

The bombshell results that demand a new theory of the universe

Last year, our most detailed map of the universe yet suggested our understanding of dark energy has been wrong for decades. The shock result is reigniting the search for a better cosmic story.

Late Glacial to Early Holocene Vegetation Reconstruction from the Wenas Creek Mammoth Site in Washington State The Wenas Creek Mammoth site pollen record, which extends from ∼20,000–10,000 cal yr BP, is significant given that few eastern Cascade paleoecological records span the Late Glacial to Early Holocen...

Happy #FossilFriday here is a wee climate paper that I coauthored. We found that 20kya eastern Washington was drying and warming up and chasing away all the pesky pine trees (ew, trees).

As usual with pleistocene stuff, my job was figuring out how old all the dirt was (age-depth modelling)

Sonselasuchus was one of several species of Shuvosaurid pseudosuchians that lived during the Late Triassic. This small animal was part of a large radiation of crocodile relatives that went onto many niches that will be eventually occupied by dinosaurs later in the Jurassic
