I was shocked when my Assistant Director mentioned Alfonso Ribeiro as the host a few months ago! Like, that show is still on? And he's the host???? Surely I would've seen this announced somewhere 😆

I don't think I've been living up to my own theory and it's taking its toll on my body.

Spending the day at a Sauna (not the gay sex kind, an actual sauna). I deserve it.

After my conference last weekend, I collapsed out of exhaustion; it's been 4 days and I don't seem to be getting better.

I've pushed myself too hard this year, plus dealing with grief = not a good a combination.

Survivor still getting top 10 ratings after 25 years on the air is wild to me as a fan. I didn’t realize so many people still watched. (But deserved for this season because my queen Cirie is on)

My favorite part was when he introduced an entirely new character in the penultimate episode and spent 30+ minutes telling her story just to get to a 5 second sight gag before going back to the man story.

I know Ryan Murphy shows are not to be trusted but even I wasn’t prepared for how badly he dropped the ball with The Beauty. The first three episodes were fun and then everything went to shit.

Usually he gives us at least a good season before ruining everything

Truly. When I started dating my now husband, a biologist, it became clear to me that we have extremely different ideas of what academic life is.

Some things we do better, some things they do better. (On the whole, though, I don’t envy scientists. I’d rather teach than chase grants all day)

Same! And even after editing this book, I sometimes still catch myself personalizing my own “inadequacies.” We’re all works in progress.

The CCCC resolution affirming students' and teachers' right to refuse generative AI in the writing classroom passed by an overwhelming majority at the #4C26 Annual Business Meeting this past Friday, March 6.

Plus I get to live near NYC and Philadelphia, so really...not much of a sense that I've settled.

Ugh, this is what gets me. No one's asked me about leaving for a "real" job, but I have had people ask me if I miss advising grad students (which I never did so I can't miss it), making a good salary (my salary is fine), or doing research (I publish regularly and in pretty good venues).

Well #4c26, it’s been fun. Good times for all. I am ready to head home and sleep in my own bed though. Flight has been delayed for 3 hours but we’re finally boarding

It’s weird traveling now that my dog Rosie has passed. I used to feel so guilty for abandoning her because she was so devoted to me. The guilt ruined several trips.😂😂 Now, I’m free of that guilt…but I wish i wasn’t.

Anyway, everyone hug your dogs. It’s magical. And look how beautiful my lady was
