Slot just doesn't seem to learn this, it's been his major floor this season. Where is Curtis?!

I fully expect us to lose this game with that 11. That Sunderland team is perfectly set up to beat us and it's an evening game at home. Our midfield looks extremely soft and I've got very little confidence in either of the full backs! #lfc
I can't see how Slot manages to do that now, based on how his attempts to improve us have gone. I've reverted back to pessimism after a few positives around the Burnley and Marseille games. In fairness, I'd have said the same thing in the COVID season though. No idea how we scraped top 4 then!
That was absolutely shocking stuff from us. We are there for the taking and Pep will be annoyed they're not ahead. Worst LFC side he's faced at anfield? #lfc
This is absolutely grim stuff. #lfc
I assume it's Szob at right back and Wirtz as a 10. If so I expect our midfield to struggle today even with no Joelinton and Guimareas, although that should certainly even the playing field a bit! #lfc
Pray it's not the same hamstring! Agreed it looked like groin
Not only is it a regression from the recent attacking improvements but it's also a return to the defensive fragility and set piece embarrassments. It couldn't really be much worse!
2 steps forward the last few games, 2 steps back tonight. And with that goes probably the last chance of Slot turning this around in my opinion. Maybe he can cling onto Europe for a bit longer but this is a huge blow for Slot. Grim. #lfc
Probably 3 of the top 5 performances of the season have been in the last 4 games. This feels like it *could* now be a genuine turning point in terms of confidence. Still think there is work to do on finishing chances but we have solidified and now showing signs of a better attack. #lfc
That's criminal from Wirtz. Very frustrating performance from him in the final third so far.. hit that first time!!! #lfc
I'm glad my optimism at the final whistle which seemed to go against the grain was backed up by the stats! Huge game tonight to see if we can repeat the tactics/attacking movements and prove Slot has been coaching the team..
This game today, for 80% of it at least, was night and day from this unbeaten run we have been on. If we'd have won this 2-1 with a flukey winner in the 97th minute it would be hailed at the best performance of the season!
Which incidentally I don't have that much confidence in us doing.. but, if we do, we are going to start getting quite a few more wins
We've been so so bad this season though. And whilst we've been more solid defensively, we've been woeful overall against weaker opposition during this run. This looked like a genuine turning point in terms of attacking play today. Just need to play the same for the next 3 matches or so...
Yeh but we've been SO bad. The process was so much better today. You can tell we've worked hard on getting better at creating chances. Slot has to keep the players heads up now so they play like that again in the next few. That's his big test..
Best performance of the season arguably that today. Think this is the first sign of us beginning to link up front although you wouldn't think it seeing everyone's take on here! Reality is we need to play like that for the next few though, otherwise it will count for very little
There have been boos. I was at the Leeds game the other week and there were a few. The difference in performance today was night and day though. This was more like it. If we play like we did today the next 3 matches we will probably win all 3.
We should have had a few more goals in the first 20 of the second half too tbf. It was poor once we conceded. Reality is, it might be our best performance of the season Vs a team worse than us. That does say a lot!
Probably our best performance of the season against a team worse than us. Still, not winning at home against arguably the worst team in the league is really poor. That should have been a routine win and confidence back, anfield crowd back behind the players. But it's not. #lfc
Yep. Arsenal before that next!
If they play like this every week it won't be long before they're ahead of us.. big if though. To be fair they've been better than we've looked 99% of the season today..
Sturridge is a good pundit as far as they go. Better than many
I don't understand how one of our players didn't get sent off laying into Martinelli there. Absolutely shameful stuff from him. So unlucky for Bradley and leaves us with an mini crisis at the back again. #lfc
Such an odd decision then. There have been a few cropping up..
Is it possible that CJ needs to be rested? Guessing this isn't a reason given our next (proper) game is like 9 days away!
I don't really agree with this. He was routinely implying he wants to play like PSG with flying wing backs earlier in the season and everyone was telling him he was too open!
Think both things can be true. We shouldn't expect Klopp ball in this season premier league but we absolutely should expect better than we are getting
No one's forcing us to play that way. Slot doesn't want us to play like this either but his issue is he can't force us to start playing out of it. At the moment I don't think we have the confidence or drilled/routine movements/tactics to improve
I thought it was better until we scored and then it reverted back to the first half performance. The lack of confidence is so obvious at the moment. It looks like a team absolutely miles off being able to play any good football
