Hollow ceramic figurine fragment with the right part of a male torso, unclothed, preserved from the very base of the neck to the waist area and with one right arm surviving. The arm has been hand modelled and is separated from the torso. It is bent at the elbow, with the wrist turned inwards and the hand curled around a cylindrical object. The base of the object is broken and missing; it could be the pommel of a sword.

Gordon Childe Lectures at the UCL Institute of Archaeology The Gordon Childe Lectures, organised by the UCL Institute of Archaeology and normally held annually, commenced in 2016. The events are named in honour of Vere Gordon Childe, Director of the Institute

Childe came to the IoA as Director & Prof of European Prehistory in 1946. He remained at the @ucl.ac.uk IoA until 1956.
