Exclusive Meta acquires Moltbook, the social network for agents
By Ina Fried
(Axios)
Meta has acquiredΒ Moltbook, a viral social network designed for AI agents, Axios has learned.
Why it matters:Β The deal brings Moltbook's creators β€” Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr β€” into Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL), the unit run by former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang.
Meta did not disclose Moltbook's purchase price.
The deal is expected to close mid-March, Meta says, with the pair starting at MSL on March 16.
Catch up quick:Β Moltbook's social network was designed to run in conjunction with a separate project, OpenClaw.
OpenClaw was previously called Clawdbot and briefly Moltbot.
Last month OpenAI hired Peter Steinberger, the creator of OpenClaw. That product is now being open-sourced with OpenAI's backing.
Zoom in:Β Schlicht has been working on autonomous AI agents since 2023 and launched Moltbook in late January as an experimental "third space" for AI agents.
Fun fact:Β Moltbook was built largely with the help of Schlicht's personal AI assistant, Clawd Clawderberg.
Parr was a former editor and columnist at Mashable and CNET.
What they're saying:Β "The Moltbook team joining MSL opens up new ways for AI agents to work for people and businesses," a Meta representative told Axios.
In a blog post, Meta's Vishal Shah said existing Moltbook customers can continue using the platform β€” though the company signaled the arrangement is temporary.
"The Moltbook team has given agents a way to verify their identity and connect with one another on their human's behalf," Shah says. "This establishes a registry where agents are verified and tethered to human owners."
"Their team has unlocked new ways for agents to interact, share content, and coordinate complex tasks," he added.

I don't know how useful this will be in the long run, but I kicked a few bucks to this organization a few days ago:

This is just something a LOT of nondisabled people do not know until it impacts them, and disabled trans folks (like me, full disclosure) are often doubly erased from people’s minds and attention for these matters.b

We need to be seen and thought of too.

We need cis, nondisabled people to help!

Disabled trans folks & disabled folks in general (also major targets of the admin’s eugenics) are also widely unable to flee to most countries even if we had $ (we don’t):

Nations specifically bar disabled people like this bc we are seen as burdens instead of humans with the right to live & thrive.

An image of a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) from the account of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (@KenPaxtonTX), posted on March 9, 2026.
The post text reads: "🚨🚨 BREAKING: I secured a victory against a New York-based child mutilator to stop the sale of chest binders to Texas girls. I will never allow radical companies like Lola Olivia to abuse Texas children by 'transitioning' them."
Below the text is an embedded image of an official press release from the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. The press release is titled: "Attorney General Ken Paxton Secures Victory Against New York-Based Child Mutilator to Stop the Sale of Chest Binders to Texas Girls."
The body of the release states that Attorney General Paxton secured a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the New York City-based online retailer, Lola Olivia, Inc. It claims the company sold chest binders to children as young as nine years old without disclosing health risks. The release cites concerns regarding medical conditions, physical pain, and long-term bodily harm. It concludes with a quote from Paxton stating his office will continue to protect children against "radical, sick corporations."

Texas AG Ken Paxton has gotten a TRO in Texas court blocking retailer Lola Olivia from selling underwear to trans people.

I've submitted multiple. Never once been published. They often don't even publish my comments on anti trans nyt articles. It's that repressive.

The reviews searched over 12,000 references. They screened 547 full-text papers for inclusion. They included 17. That's a 96.9% exclusion rate at full text. 530 studies were relevant enough to survive initial screening, then rejected by the review criteria. 6/10 reviews found 0 included studies.

NEWS: The Trump administration is forcing transgender inmates to detransition by implementing a new policy that would withhold their medical treatment in a way that puts clinicians in conflict with ethics and patients in danger.

what do you do when your desired outcome (banning gender-affirming care) goes against the medical consensus? easy: simply exclude 97% of the relevant medical studies from your review...

The most frustrating features of the anti trans side is how they constantly cite systematic reviews as objective when they're filled with subjective choices that can be adjusted to ensure certain outcomes. From exclusion criteria to individual analysis, it's still subjective. This is the proof.

New NHS England Review Excluded 97% Of All Trans Studies To Say Care Doesn't Work The new review has led to a ban for HRT through the NHS England system under the age of 18.

1. A new NHS England Review excluded 97% of all trans care studies to conclude that trans youth care doesn't work.

It explicitly violates several guidelines around reviewing literature, and appears to be politics masquerading as (shoddy) science.

Judge says ICE stopped people solely because of their race, but declines preliminary injunction Several Minnesota residents accused federal agents of unfairly targeting Somali and Latino residents

While he acknowledged behavior he called β€œtroubling,” a judge on Monday rejected an effort by the ACLU to block arrests without reasonable suspicion and racial profiling reported during Operation Metro Surge while a lawsuit proceeds, citing the exodus of federal agents from Minnesota.

if you think about this for 5 seconds, it's blindingly obvious! experimenting on children is very difficult to do ethically, but children still need medication, so you give them meds where there is an evidence base in adults and a proven track record of good results!

β€œIn pediatrics, off-label prescribing is the rule, not the exception” www.aamc.org/news/wish-pe...

10.03.2026 15:36 πŸ‘ 122 πŸ” 20 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

"Off-label" does not mean the FDA has not approved the medication; it simply means it has not approved the medication *for that purpose,* and pediatric prescriptions are so frequently off-label because it's extraordinarily difficult to do ethical research with children.

10.03.2026 15:33 πŸ‘ 277 πŸ” 42 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 2

If you took your kid to the doctor recently for any reason, there's a one in five chance you walked away with an off-label prescription. Nearly half of all pediatric prescriptions are off-label.

10.03.2026 15:31 πŸ‘ 1278 πŸ” 349 πŸ’¬ 25 πŸ“Œ 10

If the Trump administration's position is that certain off-label prescriptions constitute conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, that could create a chilling effect that will make providers back away from misoprostol-only abortions, even if the DOJ never takes action against them.

10.03.2026 15:28 πŸ‘ 45 πŸ” 6 πŸ’¬ 3 πŸ“Œ 0

Mifepristone and misoprostol are normally used together in medication abortion, but misoprostol works well on its own. Mifepristone is regulated under a special FDA program called REMS that could be used to limit telehealth prescriptions; misoprosotl is not.

10.03.2026 15:25 πŸ‘ 50 πŸ” 8 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

The DOJ is suggesting that gender-affirming care providers may be engaging in "conspiracy" because they're prescribing medications off-label. That poses danger for an important backstop in the event old restrictions on the abortion pill mifepristone are restored:

"Why Are Some Democrats Backing MAGA's Anti-LGBTQ+ Censorship"
A) Because Christian Theocratic Fascism is a defining characteristic of both major parties.
B) because Democratic politicians love censorship more than life itself.
