As a non-writer, I always imagined writing about The Cramps to be as simple as stripping down to your leopard print undies and hurling yourself off the PA stack. But as always Andy brings so much more to the stage. Brilliant writing.

This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but me writing 6000 words for Inventory about Julie Covington.
Venture capitalists are responsible for some of this. So are previous owners of WHS for how they ran the business. Changes in reading habits amongst the public too. But IMIO this is especially bad news because it will reduce the presence of books on the high street, books as a fact of everyday life.

Lovecraft, The Classic Horror Stories
Reading Lovecraft again for the first time in 20 years. In the intervening period, his reputation has altered significantly - again - and I know more about his work and life than I did then. Plus the tropes of his fiction have become ubiquitous. It's Cthulu's world, we just live in it.
One of our favourite novels.
