Hey! I released a new #game today. :)
It's a competitive 2-player dice game using a shoebox lid and an inch. Playtesting was fast and furious, and we had a blast with it. Just print and play!

There has never been an official, comprehensive record of Black-owned bookstores across the United States β until now
Have you read A Half-Built Garden by Ruthanna Emrys?
You also might like Miles Cameron's Artifact Space and Deep Black.
And Arkhangelsk by Bonesteel was interesting. It surprised me.
I always love how sparkly the petals are!
A little Palestinian girl illustrated in watercolour.
A stylized red bird in watercolour.
This is my attempt at self promotion.
I did some filming for this weekβs vlog going up on my YouTube channel.
These are some of the cast members for my first childrenβs book! Itβs based on one of my favourite Palestinian folktales.

Fleshed out the new game for March, and started the art for the accompanying zine. I have 15 days to create 10 comic pages, roll up numbers and balance, playtest, and print. Let's goo!
Husband suggested a game supplement that would require 40 descriptions...I'll think about it.
Yesterday after fighting with three ways to verify I was a human before I could use a site I needed, I asked, "Why do the robots have it easier? If I'm a robot, will you let me in through a back door?"
A beautiful large sycamore tree with no leaves, which shows its white branches, against a vivid blue sky with bright white clouds.
No edits.
A sad goblin walking his fog and wearing his mask. He's looking up and has just passed graffiti of my initials.

A bush with rust colored leaves covered in a bit of frost from the fog this morning.
From this morning's "frozen fog"....

Long live 2D animation (& practical effects).
Pencil portrait of a man in glasses (all my portraits with rare exceptions were done from life)
Pencil portrait of Ray, office cleaner. He was delighted with this and took it away so before he disappeared with it I photocopied it (this is from the photocopy). I wonder if he still has it?

Spent the morning running all over the internet looking at art and influences.
Did you know they can transfer a fresco to a canvas? Did you know that Woman on a Balcony was not made by DuChamp, although it was made the same year? Did you know that H.R. Giger made an homage of Isle of the Dead?
I've updated my storefront, and if anyone wants the measurements on those four new shawls, I can go remeasure them. But not today. #crochet

Three of my #zines are up for free right now on itch. You can get a comic about Godzilla, an art homage to Moby Dick, and a glimpse into retro FutureTech.

Me, too--but probably not as disciplined as you're being (and I should be). Sometimes I think I'll just go the Egon Schiele route and use the wobble to my advantage haha
very nice. One of the art goals I have this year is to work on bettering my line work. Trees seem to happen a lot when I doodle for practice. :)
A hand holding a book cover: Different Kind of Defiance by Renan Bernardo. The upper part of the cover contains trees with golden leaves and the middle contains clouds. In the botoom, there are a few drones flying. There's a blurb by Ai Jiang on the cover.
The book's backcover with the description and the barcode. The top says "Defiance has many faces".
I'm pleased to announce that my solarpunk/climate fiction collection, Different Kinds of Defiance, has a new cover art by Hugo finalist @dntlz.bsky.social! I can't express how happy I am with the final result. You can find the new edition in the usual places. π
SQUEEE!!! My wee squid babies!!
Breaking: ICE is now reportedly following white people on grocery runs in Minnesota, suspecting they're delivering food to neighbors too afraid to leave their homes.
Neighborhood instructions:
Don't put the address in your phone.
Don't use GPS.
Write it on paper.
And if you get stopped, eat it.
At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.
Finally playing #Road96, and it's intense and riveting. Political narrative where your choices can mean life or death, not just for you but for the teens who come after you. Can you get your teen runaways to the border and freedom? Can you change the world?
Highly recommend.

A digital illustration of a Golden Oriole looking slightly up and out from where it is perched facing right on a branch. The feathers are predominately black with yellow and orange and white highlights.
Today's #art practice. I'm learning the chalk brush. The reference was the Golden Oriole from a Smithsonian collection.
While remaining on her head, the witch's pointy hat turns inside out. Like a nail burrowed into her skullβshe is empty, a black velvet cup, catching the oaths that fall from the late bleak sky
