Geeze. First the news that rice contains extreme levels of arsenic and cadmium and now this. Even the "healthy" foods are poisonous.

Ashley Hall, private school, head of school writes parents that a STEM program for 7th-12th grade girls has been canceled thanks to the anti-DEI policies
Hey SC, hope itβs been super fun owning the libsβbecause the anti-DEI DOGE stuff is coming for the daughters of affluent conservatives, too!
Letter from the Head of Ashley Hall, an all-girls private school in Charleston (incidentally Barbara Bushβs alma mater)
Trumpβs DEI ban has forced a prestigious South Carolina girls school, Ashley Hall, to cancel STEM day. βA lot of disappointmentβ

Spent the weekend sick and still feeling less than my best today. Got out a pot and started throwing in whatever healthy ingredients I could find to help me kick this. Healthy? Absolutely. Delicious? Very much so. Posting ingredients list:
Frustrated that Hello Fresh now makes it difficult to cancel your subscription, adding more hoops to jump through. Used to be you'd click 1-2 buttons & maybe provide a "why" but now you have to go searching & then chat with a bot who's every response involves them trying to bargain with you to stay.

Like my witchcraft practice, I find it fulfilling to use up what I have on hand. It's the same when it comes to creating simple yet mindful meals. Once you get a good idea of what goes well with what and what your tastes are, you'll be amazed at how energizing and rewarding food creation can be.

My little baby boy, Jasper. My delightfully strange and wonderfully sweet middle child. The second baby my husband and I ever adopted. The peacekeeper of the family and trusted confidant of the spirits. Beloved by all whether they be human, other animals, or creatures from the void.
A woman is winter clothes and stocking cap outside in the snow.
The face of a lady who, rather than attempt to drive her RWD sedan in 6" of snow, opted instead to walk over 2 miles to check on her friend's cats since her friend is experiencing travel delays. Anything for friends and cats. But mostly cats.

It's been snowing and sleeting for awhile now. Imagine my surprise when, while walking my dog really quick so he could do his business, I see a flash of light above us, followed by a very long and deep rumble of thunder.
Starting 2025 off with some thundersnow.
Telegram sent by author Dorothy Parker to Robert Benchley on December 31st 1929. Text reads. You come right over here and explain why they are having another year.
Happy New Year from Dorothy Parker (and me).
A good year for reading. Looking forward to continuing strong in 2025.

This is beautiful.
I feel all of this so hard. Due to surgeries last year because of risk of cancer I was launched into menopause right away. While I'm on the estrogen patch, I went through months of trying to figure out why my body/mind was freaking out. I'm still learning about this new phase of my life, it's crazy.
At least the cenobites will come over.
Sorry, didn't mean to post so much! I appreciated the question and the article. It's definitely something that hits close to home with family.
I do think it's up to parents to start kids off strong with an appreciation for movement and exercise and healthy food. Those adults that didn't have that kind of upbringing are more susceptible, I would think, to poor health habits exacerbated by weed.
And it's at night so I know I won't be moving and can just relax. But if I do it during the day, I'm useless. Ive seen 1st hand when someone gets high all day every day, lack of movement and convenient comfort food galore. Everything in moderation.
I mean, absolutely it can cause poor eating habits & lack of movement. I partake maybe 1x a week, and usually just 1 puff just to help take the edge off like a glass of wine for other folks. Depending on how big of an inhale, I'll find myself standing in the kitchen eating junk I normally don't.
Oh, that's a shame.
