I think all franchises eventually succumb to this. Original art is about things, and the longer it goes on, the stronger the temptation to make it about itself. It even happened to Ghostbusters, which started as an inherently silly comedy.

This just reminds me that Star Wars is too self-referential these days, if George was still in charge this guy would be named Noem Hegsith or something. The actual name will be some deep-cut EU guy (and I’ll lap it up to be clear)

It's easy for me to say now that I'm nearly 20 years divorced from being "forced" to read anything, but I've come to realize that the struggle is the point! It's how we learn! Grappling with words written centuries ago and what was meant by people who are different is just so vital to "thinking" imo

There have always been stupid and incurious people, and I don’t think the distribution is different than it ever was. But I’m not sure stupidity has ever been tolerated, let alone celebrated, the way it is today. What’s worse is nobody who’s stupid seems to even know they’re stupid anymore.

He’s good at attacking a tilted defense by driving which is what I meant, admittedly a real distinction from what Gobert does even though I lumped them together.

I’m not sure I would say this team is optimized around Ant offensively overall, but it definitely seems optimized for this chart. Two elite rollers (Gobert/Randle) and two elite shooters (Jaden/Donte) plus elite shotmaking himself means good things happen when Ant is blitzed.
