between this and the "we could call it a win now or keep going and we're going to keep going" quote from Trump seems pretty clear that we're getting paraphrases from WH internal strategy sessions

Look, people *know* that these technologies are trained on stolen material. They *know* about the CSAM and abusive images of women it generates. They *know* about the environmental damage. They *know* about the lack of consent. So they must also know that the ethical thing to do is to just say no.
Pretty crazy how important the blockade of a trade route is right now
they really have one trick and its not fucking working
Since labour took office in 2024 we've had the online safety act which started the age verification shit which is also why Britain just straight up can't access Imgur any more, we've had heavy, performative gov use of AI, our leader has bent the knee to trump over and over and a war on trans folks.

I think the reason Dragonlance sold 2 million copies and most fantasy licensed works do not is that Dragonlance is a messy love and family drama with the trappings of fantasy and war, whereas most fantasy tries to not be for icky girls.
My long delayed Dragonlance review is in the works now
Rand Paul: "As far as reasons for the war, there have been many different ones floated, but none have been very convincing... we were told their nuclear weapons were obliterated, and now we're told their nuclear weapons are just moments away from being a bomb. I don't think the arguments are valid."
I've asterisked "trans" because the NHS doesn't talk about trans healthcare. Revealing its ideological leanings, NHS England instead talks about people who are sick with the illness of "gender dysphoria," something of which, presumably, they should be cured.
If you've watched how NHS England - stuffed, as Kemi Badenoch explicitly told us, with her handpicked transphobes - does trans* healthcare you can't be surprised by this from @erininthemorning.com.
But still, it's an important service to see her lay it all out.

WASHINGTON β The Democratic National Committee Tuesday filed a lawsuit in federal court aiming to force the Trump administration to admit if it plans to send armed federal law enforcement or U.S. troops to polling locations in the upcoming midterm elections.
None of them can talk coherently about strategy or goals but they are completely in sync in all their macho posturing because that is all theyβre really focused on. Everything else is just whatever limply offered fiction is convenient to them at the time.
It's looking increasingly like these guys thought that if they could wreak more death and destruction than the other side then they would be respected as strong powerful men and they would "win" and that would make them big important heroes. Very possibly they had no rationale deeper than that.
1/ Vladimir Putin is said to be concerned about a possible coup by the Russian military following the arrest of former First Deputy Defence Minister Ruslan Tsalikov. Mobile Internet in the centre of Moscow has been turned off for the past week, with no official explanation. β¬οΈ
Again, I keep returning to how funny it is that these guys have all subjected themselves to endless discomfort and degradation for Trump and he'll turn on them the moment it's even slightly useful, but Mamdani walked into the White House and called him a fascist and can get whatever he wants now.
The WSJ front page. Top headline is: Deleted Tweet Sends Oil Markets on Another Roller Coaster Second: The US energy secretary's X account posted about the Navy escorting an oil tanker Below is the table for Brent crude, showing a downward path from March 9, but spiking up again today.
It's like these fuckers have a competition, Apprentice-like, to see who can be the most inconceivably incompetent.

In the run-up to his war, Trump ignored warnings that Iran could retaliate across the region and stop oil shipments, the NYT reports.
He downplayed risks as a short-term concern that shouldnβt overshadow the mission to decapitate the regime.
Now the energy markets are in chaos.
This needs to be immortalized.
I finally lost my shit about so-called AIs, LLMs, enshittification & everything fucking evil that @officialgrammarly.bsky.social is doing. I'm fucking furious, and not just about what 1 company has done. An open letter to Grammarly & the rest of the LLM hype machine www.moryan.com/an-open-lett...
βWhy do you want to shit on entire swathes of human endeavor and wreck the planet while youβre doing it? Why are you so determined to be awful and amoral? Everything about your priorities is messed up, and you should all be heartily ashamed, abashed and embarrassed.β
Chuck Grassley long ago staked out Pentagon waste as a wheelhouse. That was always self-serving theater, because it was trivial compared to today, and the racist and fascist Grassley is invisible.

Genuinely, we donβt talk enough about how *dumb* he is. He obviously thinks βclean coalβ is some pristine type you can pull out of the ground and he couldnβt explain a tariff given every textbook in the world and an untimed test. Wild how media pretends whatever he says is normal politician speak.
I mean obviously no but also βCan Trump point to Iran on a map?β
If you are an author or editor at *ANY* level -- from beginner to jaded old veteran like me, click through to the article Todd's posting about, take 2 minutes, and email them to let them know you opt out. Will save us all time having to mount yet a 577th class-action suit down the road.
As Clausewitz wrote, the decisive factor in war is which military leader can bench press the most.
I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.
I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.
