Rand Paul: "As far as reasons for the war, there have been many different ones floated, but none have been very convincing... we were told their nuclear weapons were obliterated, and now we're told their nuclear weapons are just moments away from being a bomb. I don't think the arguments are valid."
Nobody in this Administration can agree on why they started this war or when it will end. The Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, and the President are all saying different things. Servicemembers’ lives are on the line, and they deserve better than this.
“This is our second war in a month.”
Take a moment to sit with that.
In today's poll, voters were asked about Trump's handling of: his job as Commander in Chief of the U.S. military: 42 percent approve, while 55 percent disapprove; foreign policy: 40 percent approve, while 57 percent disapprove; the economy: 39 percent approve, while 58 percent disapprove; the situation with Iran: 38 percent approve, while 57 percent disapprove. The 58 percent disapproval for Trump's handling of the economy is the highest disapproval he has ever received for his handling of the economy. The previous high was 57 percent, most recently in Quinnipiac University's December 17, 2025 poll.
New Quinnipiac numbers are out. Trump is:
Negative 19 points on the economy
Negative 19 points on Iran
Negative 17 points on foreign policy
Negative 13 points on performance as commander in chief
The 58% disapproval for his handling of the economy is his highest ever

Who is demanding the imposition of sharia law in America?
I can't think of anyone calling for that, much less enough of a groundswell that it warrants an actual response from Congress.
Who's pushing this, Mike? Name names.
Iraq cost us $6 trillion. Even a short Iran war could add $1 trillion to a budget deficit that Trump may already be tripling. trib.al/txXV9QN

I have known Thom Tillis since I was 21 years old when I was a cub reporter and he was state speaker of the #NCGA. He engineered the Republican supermajority in North Carolina and he turned the state Wolf Pack red after Obama won it in 2008.

LUCE: “.. Long after oil prices have stabilised, the world will recall his administration’s glory in the imagery of ‘lethality’ .. Trump chose to go to war and has taken explicit satisfaction in his power of life and death.”

“Several years ago, nephrologists attempted a first-of-its-kind effort: remove race from a key clinical algorithm, and attempt to undo the harms… A new study found the change had big results, impacting 27% of Black patients and resulting in 5.3 more transplants per 1000 Black candidates.”

I understand that there are a lot of folks on the left who instinctively recoil from religious language, and with good reason given its use by the right.
But please listen to this, and focus on how he's trying to realign "Christian values" so they align with and advance progressive policy goals.
Americans are already paying for this war in blood. Now, struggling under the weight of this administration’s policies, they will pay in treasure, too. [...] Do not tell us there is no money for health care. Do not tell us there is no money for college. Do not tell us there is no money for child care. There is money. There has always been money. What we lack is leadership. What we need is the courage to seize it. For every day this Congress fails to act, Americans will pay—in blood and treasure—for a war no one debated, no one authorized, and no one can justify. Ortega Democrat for Congress

It's bad the president is completely clueless, but even worse that he's being influenced by his failson-in-law who doesn't actually hold a government role at all.
Is he getting tips from cabbies, like Tom Friedman, too?
