I may not be very good, but I still enjoy skating. First time landing a front noseslide with a shuvit out
I tend to do the same, which is why I get comfortable pushing the convo onto others 😆
Happy to have helped
I enjoyed talking to you as well. Though I felt like I TALKED too much and you didn’t talk enough :)
My retrospective on #SBLAAR2024
I talked to some of you far too much and others not nearly enough.
My book haul from SBL: all books I’ve had varying degrees of participation in helping bring to press.
I’ll do it even without the beer. We will connect!
The newest volume in our series out in the wild!
Hard agree
My body is currently running exclusively off of adrenaline.
It’s the season of inspecting name tags toto confirm the in-person identities of people I think I recognize from online. Apologies to all in advance. #sblaar24
Watch out San Diego, here I come.
Another starter pack - this one devoted exclusively to New Testament scholars. Give them a follow if that's your jam!
Good idea...I should probably download the seasons.
Why am I tempted to watch through Tedd Lasso for the 4th time? Or is it the 5th time? I've lost count.
The most useful skill high school taught me in preparation for being an academic is the ability to fall asleep anyway, at any time, for any reason.
I thought of doing this. Part of the reason I’m bringing as many as I am….in the event that people will want to see and test out what fine writing has to offer.
I think one of the hardest things for me will be deciding which pens to bring with me to SBL. I think I’ve settled on these…but I may change my mind and pair back before departure.
To see what this has become since the two of us agreed to exchange sour patch kids for Haribo three years ago. Awesome hilarity
I’ll be presenting on God as Founder in 1 Clement in the Inventing Christianity session and manning the de Gruyter booth. Hope to see you around
Folks, if you are interested in biblical studies (broadly construed) on Bluesky, I've created a starter pack. It's *non-comprehensive* (you can only add 150 accounts), so apologies to anyone left off!

Very helpful! Thank you. (Also explains why I just got a huge bump in follows so that’s for including me.)
Today my son said, „Ich habe sein Brot ge-yoinkt“.
When I asked if the English work yoink had really been eingedeutscht, he and his German friend convinced me it had been.
🤦♂️.
This kid is going to be the death of me…and yet I’m still laughing.
That’s disappointing. I miss you Rick. Genuinely
It is unlikely future generations will remember me for my contributions to academic/scholarly knowledge, but some will remember me for my candy exchange and for my translations of obscure German works
