What a charming pic >^..^<
One wonders if the blanket draped over the chair is for the sake of the kitten. Always nice to see when priorities are correct with cats taking precedence over furniture.

An ace vegan everyperson who likes cats and cars. Profile: one of my cats, a brown tabby, loafing on a '60s Olivetti soft case atop a '20s Remie Scout portable. Banner: a red '61 VW Beetle with penguins https://www.clubvw.org.au/vwreference/antarctic-vws/
What a charming pic >^..^<

That would be the Worst. Sequel. Ever.

Oh dear. All too easy to imagine why it wouldn't have been great.
And to think they could've just stayed home for some good old fashioned Scottish cannibalism...
The review all too briefly mentions cannibals ๐ง What gives with the Scottish and cannibalism?? (Thinking of the Sawney Bean clan...)
Yeah, that was memorable what you said in the past about exocannibals and endocannibals, lol
Lovely pic!
If it's wintertime then that looks like some mighty nice apricity >^..^<
Another reason to keep the lid down is how one of my cats, Bean, loves to jump back and forth between the lid and the tank in anticipation of the treats that I keep in the wall cabinet. Utterly adorable >^..^<
Utterly adorable but ew, lol
Yeah, among the reasons to always put the lid and not just the seat down: 1) simple hygenie 2) to avoid mishaps with cats 3) so cats can sit on the lid >^..^<
Worse, how is that possible?!? Poor babies.
Let cats be cats, no need to breed for any specific characteristics since every cat is just intrinsically perfect no matter what they look like >^..^<
Also, apropos of which, a reason (among many!) to wish a pox on JKR: there was an increase in demand for peke-face cats when Crookshanks was introduced in the books and the movie adaptations.
Again, poor babies.
Best wishes to those cats for their health (& worst wishes to the breeders.)
Made the mistake of looking up the history of the breed re: peke faces (was curious about the dates of origin since I remember such cats in the late 60s; looks like 1880s with popularity kicking off in the 50s and increasing since then.) Poor babies.
Great pic! >^..^<
While I've said this in the past here & elsewhere it bears repeating that one can imagine that it must've been such a thrill to get such a pic back from the photo developing lab and see the kitty yawn so successfully caught on film.
Just added up the weights of my 7 cats and it's a nice round 100 lbs, lol
3 are kinda skinny even tho I give them as much as they want to eat. The other 4 are somewhat chonkers (3 are big anyway) & are on diets.
Average age is 8 years old but every single one of my cats is very much my baby >^..^<
Utterly adorable!! >^ .^<
Ha, yeah, Marcel's always gonna be a tiny baby morsel whether 9 lbs or 19 lbs (my childhood cat was 21 lbs! He was a rescue & actually a bit skinny, just a huge cat, a forerunner of today's Maine Coon cats, but he was the family baby, usurping my youngest sibling, lol.)
Ha. Dunno the whole context though one can't help but think that could be an addenum to your pinned post/thread with the "editor" being a target for, say, Artemisia Gentileschi (justifably so.)
Mighty adorable >^..^<
Yeah, seems like a pretty big TV set for 1956. TVs with big screens didn't start becoming so ubiquitous until the late 50s & early 60s.
One wonders if the cat was waiting for the TV to be turned on so it could get on top and enjoy the warmth of all these vacuum tubes inside.
Such a great pic!
Of course the focus is on the most important subject(s) >^..^<
Just that what one can see of that bike's frame is actually pretty interesting so I do wish the whole bike was...in frame. But I ain't complaining :)
Yeah, seconding the inquiry since the quality of all these various images in the posts is indeed impressive >^..^<
Mighty nice pic, cat's seeming disappointment notwithstanding >^..^<
Really digging the lovely mid-century (not necessarily modern so much) design of the coffee cup, plate, & placemat.
One likes to think that the cat is actually just waiting to be served & that the Yelp review will indeed be good.
Yeah, seems like it's already a substantial commitment taking care of all these geese as it is, so it's all good! But I'll stay tuned anyhow...
Mighty nice to read about how well it turned out for everyone, especially with the Arctic blast & all, kudos to you all!
Will the new caretaker of the geese be providing at least the occasional update?
A bit more succinct and more specifically clear:
*Cat sits you stays*
*Cat sits I stays*
The latter is likely what that person is saying in the photo especially with the pointing gesture >^..^<
To put it another way:
If it sits you stays >^..^<
Ah, yes, a tale as old as time: if a cat sits in your lap you don't move, them's the rules. >^..^<
Make of this what you will: my high school driver's ed teacher's name was Mr. Boring.
The driver's ed class was...perfectly cromulent. Nothing to write home about, really, but it got the job done of teaching driver's ed. So there was that.
*ahem* 'a labor [sic] of grave robbing.'
Ha. But, yes, wholeheartedly agree. Always good to see people speaking out about that.
Great pic >^..^<
For some reason (maybe my inner misanthrope) I'm wondering if this would be before or after meeting the bear in the woods.
Ah, yes, Marcel the Morsel >^..^<
A color photograph: two remarkably similar and quite chonk grey tuxedo tabby cats are on a human's outstretched legs on a couch with one resting on the shins ร la Tombili and looking at the other one who's resting on the thighs while enjoying some head scritches. In the background is a purple unicorn pig Squishmallow and above that is a small black cat contentedly loafing on a folded tiger-striped blanket.
Utterly adorable! >^..^<
Ha, yeah, 2 of my 7 cats are surprisingly similar (grey tuxedo tabby ex-feral ex-tomcat chonkers but from very different parts of town) and they often vie for the same spot in my lap; none of the other cats, even the most lap-happy ones, are in the habit of doing so, lol.
Just saw that the Snopes article cites that pic of the cat just eating as being from 1845... after nearly 2 centuries what's 5 years?? Lol.
However, I'd seen multiple references to ca. 1840 so that's what I went with.
