No, that's ok. I don't have to be everyone's cup of coffee.

Just realizing, I'm gong to have to add disclaimers for bots in the game I'm working on, aren't I? *sigh* This is why we can't have nice things.

Making each word look like it's picked from a spinning drum filled with other words could be fun, but not sure if it fits the style of every game equally well.

It's upsetting that we're at a point where games have to be designed defensively not to be confused for AI slop, rather than just having a labeling requirement for gen AI use, but here we are.

I guess, making things that are mad-libbed clear with blanks that fill in with words could be a good start

That's something. Pretty sure I'd just bounce off even if I take a running start. ๐Ÿ˜ฟ

I suppose, if I grabbed one of these folding chairs at the sidelines... But that seems entirely uncalled for. Otherwise, my aggression would likely look a lot like this.

I get what you're saying, though. There's certainly an opportunity cost, and I'm not going to insist that it's objectively the best tactic. I think it's a sensible tactic, and I can see why it's on the table, if nothing else.

The other part is public opinion. Nobody in US or EU will cry over a data center. People might even cheer. A burning oil refinery hurts at the pump, though. And there's going to be an uncomfortable number of people who decide that it might've been a stupid war to start, but now it has to be fought.

Hard to say what's the missile-for-missile effectiveness of each option is. There's a lot of oil infrastructure, it's in more defended areas, and oil trade is already squeezed by other means. If you expect sea mines to stop the tankers, maybe hitting refineries isn't as important.

On the contrary. Both because of how much these companies contribute to US and Israel intelligence - there's a reason Microsoft is on the BDS list, and because these companies have political leverage to ask for protection, which is going to stretch US military assets very thin. It's a solid move.

That "yet" lands like a knee to the groin as a follow up to a gut punch.

Ugh. I guess it's cheap, and reliable enough, which is why it was standard side arm for Warsaw Pact, but it's awful to shoot. Too light to help control recoil in any way, so it just slams into the meat of the palm between thumb and index finger. I hate shooting that gun.

Good likeness, though. v_v

The mental gymnastics to imagine Ukraine as incapable of domestic military production, while also explaining how it maintains its power grid, operates air force, defends against Shahed drones that NATO struggles with, hits Russia's refineries daily, and kept Russia's advance stalled for years.

11.03.2026 02:58 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 3 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Logistically, this kind of deal would make a lot of sense, and would allow both Ukraine and NATO to better defend themselves against missile threats.

But what is this timeline, seriously?

Somebody should inform people of Bryansk that their electronics factory couldn't have been struck by a Ukrainian missile, because Russia nails any factories where these would be made.

And this is just from today. Ukraine's hammering Russian infrastructure with domestic-built missiles daily.

11.03.2026 02:43 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Ukraine would like to have a missile compatible with existing Patriot launchers and they'd like to have them available ASAP, so it's a good deal for Ukraine. And for the West, there is a window of opportunity, because once Ukraine makes a domestic variant, they'll just manufacture that.

11.03.2026 02:40 ๐Ÿ‘ 1 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There is a lot that Ukraine could reverse engineer given time and resources, but it'd be a significant investment and would result in a missile that's not quite compatible because software. They're working on that too, certainly, but a licensed missile can be built essentially right away.

No idea, tbh. Never dealt with long term storage. Excessive heat is definitely the worst, as it just kills yeast. Warm environments usually let bacteria outcompete yeast, so even when brewing temps are kept low-ish. And short term fridge (non-freezer) is fine. But long-term, I have no idea.

Wanted to keep my initials for online handles reasons, and was going through the possible names. When going over "Kate," looked in a mirror and thought, "No. Katherine!" And just ran with it.

The irony's nobody calls me "Kate." It's basically "Kat" for everyone or sometimes "Katja".

Never before or since have I seen a man blue-screen in real life. He managed a weak, "Ok," after a pause, and slunk away into a nearest shadow.

That fired enough associations in my brain, to bring forth a memory of a time years ago, back when I still put gasoline in my vehicles, I was buying oil and filter for my bike, and a man materialized trying to sell me injector cleaners. "I won't be needing these." - "Why not?" - "It's a carburetor."

We should have reading quotas. You can have all the hot takes you want, but you better have read a "chapter book" in the past 3 months if you want to post them on the internet.
