Imagine a world where people and businesses with market-moving information send it to a newspaper for publication thinking that a hedge fund that owns the paper doesn’t have a method to access it first and trade on it before the public ever sees it.

Zansberg lawyering is a disgrace to journalism. It’s completely unhinged for a newspaper to avoid the truth as a legal defense. It’s not even subtle. If you look at this case, the man is an absolute monster and does not fit the reputation the Colorado Press has given him.

After a decade of the Denver Post under Alden, the people who thrive on power have surfaced to the top to put out their deceptive content and defend their deceptive practices.

I included every single email we exchanged on the case in an exhibit & you can see every single thing that happened in how they repeatedly threaten me with fees, threaten no discovery, refuse to confer, and even threaten to file motions before reviewing facts just because they could.

Zansberg has decided for his defense that he will not look at or even accept any discovery. In his emails to me which I included in a motion to preserve my right to seek sanctions for Zansberg’s estoppel, he threatened he would make me pay for his fees if I sent him any evidence or discovery.

Steve Zansberg is known throughout #coleg & #copolitics as a β€œcelebrity lawyer” in part because he’s the most marketed lawyer of opinions by the media. And as Freeman & Smith’s personal lawyer, he plays both sides of the coin, using deception, estoppel, threats, intimidation and falsity to defend.

What’s to prevent a Russian company from buying a newspaper, copy and pasting the journalistic promises of a company like NPR and then putting out deceptive media under that guise? Consumer Protection Acts: dembot.net/ccpa-2025cv11/

Yes, that’s right. Thats his primary argument he makes over and over. In just one example, his response to the Denver Post’s term that describe that the company will not take bribes for their work: He argues that’s only aspirational. Alden news companies can take bribes according to his argument.

According to the Denver Post lawyer Steve Zansberg, as clarified in pleadings with specificity, the Denver Post & media companies have zero legal obligation to follow their journalistic promises. He argues they can state in their policy that the owners won’t interfere w/the editorial even if they do

We need everyone in #coleg and #copolitics to step up and stop being loyal to their media colleagues who are compromised and complicit in harming our democratic institutions. Time is of the essence. #Boulder #Denver

Setting aside media in general, it’s amazing how large the opportunity is for journalism right now. The money is there for the taking because people are desperate for it. You just need to set up a solid set of journalistic policies and follow them.

First, let me say it’s great to see good journalists call out other journalists. We need more because non-journalists don’t have much effect when we do it. Also, I’ve found Brian to be a good reporter, so I’d like to understand why he thinks this. I’m hoping he’ll follow up, justification is needed.

I noticed some folks at the Daily Camera who stuck around for years after it fell apart from Alden who abused their power in the most awful ways. It’s all they had going for them (no special talent or product) & they went way overboard.

01.03.2026 17:15 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I mean reporters are clearly not lusting the $, power is a consequence of what they originally set out to do for the common good. When they taste the power, they often change & begin to stroke ego. Ive been in a position of media power & can appreciate how important it is to be extra responsible.

01.03.2026 17:15 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I get what you’re saying. These folks are stressed about the money because they lust money, power and scale. If you have talent though, and you are willing to maintain your integrity, a quality product is all you need to sustain. Build and they will come applies to this industry.

Alden is scary I know, they threaten people into thinking they will be harmed for confronting them & they use bad faith backed by big money to do it. Alden reporters signed away their soul in a contract that they must now maintain, having promised to keep whatever they learn secret from the public.

The real issue is that this demands independent journalists willing to scrutinize their own profession. I’m not talking about a promoter of reporters, I’m talking about true independent journalism without a stake in the success of a particular business. To date, no one in this state has stepped up.

01.03.2026 14:36 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I can’t understand how this came to be as their bad faith really is extensive. My situation is a shining example of how messed up the herd in Colorado is. There is a story here now. Regular people prob don’t understand the harm from Alden but continue to lose trust naturally based on what they see.

01.03.2026 14:23 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I’m saying this because they are maintaining a false sense of authority for themselves. How? Their herd of reporters who trust them enough to not look. Even if they do good work sometimes, how is it ok for journalists and lawyers to cheat & lie at other times? They are experienced at cheating.

01.03.2026 14:17 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

If you think I’m just crazy and won’t stop, why not look into it? You could do a report about how you tried to find any evidence of lying or estoppel by Zansberg & discredit me. Go ahead and try. #copolitics #coleg. I’m saying Chris Osher is a journalistic fraud and Zansberg and Colacioppo lie.

Just look into the pleadings yourself, Colorado District Court Case No 2025CV11 dembot.net/ccpa-2025cv11/

Reporters seem to think he is a β€˜celebrity lawyer’ but what difference does it make if he lies in court & uses estoppel? He does. All you have to do is read the pleadings and see for yourself.

Steve Zansberg represents The Denver Post & is working for them right now, how is he getting paid? If the DP pays him while they don’t pay the city which is need of the money to fund programs how would that work in terms of Zansberg’s integrity? It would fit imo since he lies for Alden too. He does.

In the 30yrs plus I’ve been a consumer of the news, I’ve never seen such a crazy situation. The DP must shut down and get their business in order. I can’t believe you are not covering this story. This is the best news co around? My gosh, what is going on in this world.

It’s March 1, which means the Denver Post has now taken ~$4.7 million from citizens in Denver via rent theft and they are still operating. I ask you, #coleg #copolitics, why are you still doing business with this company? What’s the double standard here? Is Steve Zansberg getting paid from this $?

01.03.2026 13:36 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

In the long run history will not consider her to be a real journalist because she agrees to be hushed into Alden’s deceptive practices while taking a check. The money she is getting is coming from The People of Denver who are due rent payment. It’s literally theft. The DP is stealing from citizens.

01.03.2026 13:36 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I know definitively that she produces work in bad faith. That’s factual. I also know definitively that she is not accountable for her work. That’s also factual. I think she should resign instead of wind down because she is complicit and not allowed to uphold the Denver Post warranties, causing harm.
