OK, the Gorton and Denton by-election, I have some thoughts!
Let's take a look at some of the FACTS and burst a few of the more ridiculous takes doing the rounds
But first up, can we acknowledge just what bad losers Reform are?!🤣
Right, let's get started...

I try not to get too conspiratorial in my thinking, but it is getting a bit coincidental how every time the Epstein scandal closes in on Trump, the US launches a major military operation in another country
It’s an oddball far-right former academic turned GBNews presenter facing allegations of sexual harassment or a hard working Plumber and gas engineer, marathon runner, housemate to four rescued greyhounds and leader of the Greens on Trafford Council.
This isn’t difficult Gorton & Denton.
Oh, the grand old duke of york

What’s got three thumbs, no heart and talks bollocks?
Lovely to finish the year in @thatbeerplace.co.uk. Early dart as we need to be home with an anxious pup before the inevitable fireworks begin…
Absolutely unhinged headline on the front page of the Telegraph newspaper saying “What will Labour ban next… the country walk?” Next to a photo of a foxhound, just to make it clear what they really mean. (Subtexts are for cowards and all that)
The Telegraph having a perfectly normal one this Boxing Day I see
I’m pretty sure most people can manage a walk in the country without ripping foxes limb from limb by ‘accident’
Thick as mince and thick as thieves. A column about the absolute idiots European legislators have made of themselves over the naming of food, at the behest of meat lobbyists.
You laugh and then you weep.

👏
Just some British patriots in Benidorm, taking over a street in Spain to shout in their own language about unwanted foreigners. It’s a blessing that they are too thick to understand irony.
The long and winding road
Civic war
Great day out surveying for hazel dormice. Plenty of other wildlife around in the Welsh woodlands.
Gutted to miss it, glad you had good numbers.
English Roundabouts They’re making the roundabouts great again by painting the flag of St George to keep our circular road systems safe from the dark, satanic hordes. What do they want? Patriotic junctions! When do they want them? Before it’s too late. Good old-fashioned English roundabouts, as decreed by Alfred the Great. Behold the sacred intersection, this blessed plot, this septic isle. English roundabouts for English people, draped in red and white and bile. St George is cross, as well he may be – whipped-up hate, he’s seen before. Give way to the right, the road signs rage, and the far right most of all. Brian Bilston
Here’s a poem called ‘English Roundabouts’.
Statue of Captain James Cook, explorer and inventor of the Wall’s Viennetta.
This is vile. Local guy speaks to Sky News about the impact of asylum seekers protests. Watch what happens and share widely
I think it looks fine. It has a mown edge so one would assume the adjacent grass is still maintained as a short sward. Even small patches like this are fantastic for biodiversity. Why put wildflower meadow in quotes? I can see at least four species of native wildflowers even in this blurred photo.
That’s a whole lot of excuses you’re making for someone accused of serious crimes, based on knowing none of the facts whatsoever.
Evidence to the contrary
The penalty decision should have been overturned, clear touch of the ball by the defender before contact with the attacker. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but makes it even in reffing mistakes.
Can’t believe you couldn’t find a puddle in the Lake District.
But, soft! What shite through yonder window breaks?
Torn tendon. All fixed now but not able to do anything too strenuous yet.
Great stuff Dan. I would have joined you but one armed at the mo after a shoulder op.
