I had many thoughts adjacent to this when I got into basketball.
old Soviet joke for our times:
Guy stops by the newsstand every day, scans the front page, doesn’t buy the paper. One day the vendor asks what he’s up to.
Guy says: “looking for an obituary.”
Vendor says “those are towards the back of the paper, comrade.”
Guy says: “not the one I’m looking for.”

I kept only seeing a clip. Had to find the whole song.

Splice ruined my life when I saw it at the ripe age of 18. Horrified me. Disgusted me. Fascinated me. Unified the group of theater-goers in our confusion and revulsion. Years later it remains special to me. An irreplaceable, unreplicatable experience.
A cover for Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ feature an illustration of a human man and woman fleeing from fae folk.

That book legit changed me as a person. Enjoy every little morsel. And know that subsequent re-reads are just as good.

I feel like the “rising tension” portion of this movie’s score has been playing in the background for like 10 years now

@jasonkpargin.bsky.social’s novel arrived precisely when I needed it. He writes humans with a uniquely compassionate realism. I felt myself breathe easier and feel a little less alienated than I have since roughly 2016.
"Our revolutionary new system designed with zero oversight or accountability was working great until it was taken over by a few corrupt, power-hungry monsters! Don't blame us, blame those monsters!"
Okay, sit down, I'm going to try to explain this again, very slowly
Runner Up: the first album I bought from a band I wasn’t raised on.

Also. On a reread of Jurassic Park; I have never wanted a child in fiction to meet a dark end as much as I have wanted the little sister in the novel to. Eaten by a dinosaur. Swallowed by a sinkhole. Eliminated by Langoliers. Anything would be acceptable.

I just... I love Kendrick so much. An inspiration to haters everywhere. The thinking person's hater.
I need people who are calling Kendrick Lamar a Cutie Pie to understand that this man became a Necromancer so that he could continue to resurrect Drake and kill him again in front of a live audience for the last year.
