I tried painting two trees I can see from my back door and I was chasing the light. Rookie mistake. The tree was a mess but I kept putting paint on it and messing with it till I got something I could live with. More lessons learned. Watercolor and white gouache. #PleinAirpril #PleinAirpril2025

The New Yorker is 100 years old this month. It invented the single panel cartoon. I have been reading their cartoons for decades. Unfortunately my favorite cartoonists have been dying off. The newer cartoonists are not quite the same. The first issue featured a character named Eustace Tilley.
