I think there are a couple of factors. The first being, players have put so much in, they have very little left. Second, is the opposition have another multimillion pound start to bring on, almost as good as the one they replace.

No, I don’t think you need to buy seven players. 3 or 4 quality players to replace current first team players. Who then become the back up to first team. I agree with your walk before we can run principle.
By huge I mean, moving on Meslier, Byram, Raminzani, Bornauw, Tanaka, Piroe and Gnonto. Players who don’t suit Farke, contracts up, not up to the premier league etc. Replace with better players.
I would add Gudmosson to that list. There will be huge churn of players, without it, we will not progress as a team. PSR or whatever they call it, makes it so much harder to get a foot hold in this division. It’s designed to protect the established teams.

Yes, it was a two year deal. I think they will wait until the end of the season, and know what division we are in, before deciding on a contract extension. We may get an offer from a promoted club, which we probably would take. We need to churn the squad to consolidate.
