Only good one was a grocery store I worked at that offered a free loaf of french bread for completing a survey. Employees would fill them out when it was slow and get a free snack for their break πŸ˜„ workers gave each other bread codes as a gesture of good will.

In a communistic society it is possible for me to post angrily in the morning, post angrily in the afternoon, post angrily in the evening, post angrily after dinner, just as i have in mind, without ever becoming a poster

The funny thing is the US was been exceptionally good at maintaining an empire, but they were too stupid to see real power when it was right in front of their faces. So they cut it all down and sought power in its most juvenile and weak form.

I can’t imagine how I and my neighbors would feel if you did this to my city, bombed our children, and then we saw your leaders bragging about β€œraining death and destruction from the sky all day” and saying β€œthe only people who should be afraid are Utahns who think they’re going to live.”

Now out in the American Sociological Review

We present the first large-scale assessment of the structure and evolution of temporalities expressed in U.S. climate change news coverage (2000 to 2021). For this, we analyzed more than 23,000 statements about climate change effects and actions. 🧡 1/

It looks more and more likely that Utah will have a fair congressional map for the 2026 Midterms. Thanks to all who made this happen and who will keep fighting for fair representation.

Utahns: because the GOP waited until super late to drop signature packets, there’s a chance many of those signatures are from people who were deceived into signing. You have 45 days since the packets were deposited - til March 30 - to get your name removed if you were tricked.

Utah voter roll review finds no evidence of noncitizens casting a ballot, Lt. Gov. says An ongoing Utah review of 2.1 million voter registration records has found one noncitizen who registered to vote and zero examples of any noncitizens actually voting.

Utah's chief election officer, Lt Gov Deidre Henderson, has conducted a review of the state's voter rolls to identify any ineligible voters, including by running her rolls through the DHS SAVE Program. Guess how many non-citizens voted in Utah according to the review? Zero.

19-TS of 020326 hearing - Segundo APG v. Bondi, 26-CV-603

The transcript of the MN hearing where an AUSA said β€œThis job sucks” is remarkable for more reasons than that. It’s a searing portrait of a crisis perpetrated by depraved & oblivious high-level officials. Read it all. ...

β€˜Decline to sign’ volunteers and GOP-paid signature gatherers clash during Prop 4 repeal effort Utah Gov. Cox calls for respect for signature gatherers as β€˜Decline to sign’ volunteers and GOP-paid gatherers clash during Prop 4 repeal effort.

GOP-paid signature gatherers are reportedly deceiving people into signing onto the Prop 4 repeal effort by telling them they are signing a petition to keep ICE out of Utah.

Some paid signature gatherers working to place a repeal of Proposition 4 on the ballot have misled or withheld info from voters about what the initiative would do, a KSL investigation shows. https://ow.ly/s77X50Y5Jyz

There was someone on BYU campus yesterday for the UT GOP collecting signatures for the Prop 4 repeal petition. BYU is not a public forum and this violates its political neutrality policy.

In closing, it would be well to remind white America of its debt to Dr. Du Bois. When they corrupted Negro history they distorted American history, because Negroes are too big a part of the building of this nation to be written out of it without destroying scientific history. White America, drenched with lies about Negroes, has lived too long in a fog of ignorance. Dr. Du Bois gave them a gift of truth for which they should eternally be indebted to him.

Dr King also knew Black Reconstruction and recognized its importance:

I make all my sociological theory students read Black Reconstruction and this is why: it gives a shockingly insightful analysis of past and present American politics. Bouie's done the work and it shows.
