But the songs in musicals don't contain any key plot points, usually, just emotional tangents. And as long as you see the title in the program, you should pretty much know what they're getting at.

OK, so, if you don't want to fail, you don't do experiments. You stick with what you know you're good at, and just do a lot of that. And I guess you have more product, but less growth. And then you're not doing art any more, you're just doing a craft. And I don't want to be a craftsperson.

Creatively I feel like I'm just making messes this week. I know art gives you permission to fail, but at 55 it's not permission to fail I'm worried about, it's having enough *time* to fail.

More about psychology and sociology than about, say, astronomy or physics, I assume.

On the plus side, it's making social media a little easier to get up and walk away from. Maybe that was the whole point.

I should say *we* have to, to be more clear; it's a thing I often say, particularly when talking about anxiety. A sort of quasi-motivational thing.

They want us to have lots and lots of babies—they're mad at people who are single or gay or just not having kids—but they also don't want birthright citizenship. So, clearly, they only want CERTAIN TYPES of babies. Babies that *match*.

They're not actually concerned about legal immigrants vs. illegal immigrants; they're concerned with people who LOOK or SOUND like they COULD fit their stereotype of "illegal." That's what it's about now, they just haven't said it out loud yet.
