@robinince.bsky.social hi! Was listening to an older episode of Book Shambles, with Reece Shearsmith. The third volume of Dead Funny was mentioned, but the URL to support it doesn't seem to exist! Is there a new location to find it? Ta!
Ph.Done!
Yet, this seems to be exactly what the @royalsociety.org is doing by not acting to censure Elon Musk, who is at the heart of the MAGA anti-science movement in the US.
You should not taking it for granted start by getting your own house in order.
PLASMID REQUEST: long shot, but does anyone have an IncP-9 megaplasmid, or can anyone direct me to a source of one?
When we got the pitch for this story, I hadn't even *heard* of Serratia marcescens. But then I learned that it's:
1. First bacterium named after a person.
2. First microbe grown as a pure culture.
3. Used for >100 years to study how microbes spread through built environments...
This is beautiful - they look like lampwork glass beads. #MicroSky
Oh darn what a pity, I loved the Baroque style and it was one of my favourite episodes.
An electron micrograph reveals numerous bacteriophages attached to a single bacterium. These viruses, far outnumbering any other life form on Earth, are potential allies in fighting bacterial diseases. The image showcases their minuscule size and unique structure, highlighting the phage's protein coat and genome (DNA or RNA).

It's phenomenal, I was absolutely blown away by it! Do you do prints by any chance? I would love one of that one.
This is amazing, you do magical things with shadow and light! Did you also do one of him as the Witchfinder once, slightly reminiscent of the Laughing Cavalier?

So worried for essential TB services in high burden countries
I hope governments will step in and ensure treatment continuation
Apparently this is one of Reece's favourite episodes, maybe tag him so he could see it. Really beautifully done!
Thank you so much! Works perfectly! And thanks too for your other great tools, what a lifesaver for non-bioinformatics-savvy phage people like me! ๐
@gbouras13.bsky.social Hi, I used dnaapler on the colab notebook before christmas and it worked like a charm (thank you!๐)...but it doesn't work now! Any idea what might be the issue? Python version maybe? Thanks in advance!
