I missed that your chart was median income. In UK they always use mean income to obscure the lack of improvement for most people.
In Uk there is an average household income. However, if you exclude the top 100 households, the average goes down 30%. This is because the shape of the curve is far from linear, and disguises the lack of household growth for most families.
