I want some Crime Jazz! Post punk is lazy drivel. Pere Ubu? Post-punk? Nonsense. I was in a band that released one EP in 1981 which I’ve seen described on Discogs as β€˜post-punk/pre-indie’. Covers a multitude of sins, that.

A true one-off. Have you read his biography by Paul Thompson?

Ha ha. Afraid not.

You’re getting reviewed in next month’s Shindig. Did that wake you up a bit?

Just seen your interview in the wake of last nights by-election result. Join the Greens mate, you’re a good man, Labour is finished.

Clive, you’re a good man. Join the Greens, you know it makes sense. Labour is a busted flush.

What a day to be out delivering Green Party leaflets in Leominster. In the rain. Massive congratulations from the Green heartlands of North Herefordshire to a superb candidate, now MP, Hannah Spencer.

Mmm OK. Wilko Johnson’s influence shouldn’t be underestimated either especially with Gang of Four, Delta 5. Raincoats a good shout for sure.

I bet Scritti Politti were familiar with that track but I wonder how many other post punk (hate that term) bands were influenced. Lydon possibly. Ages since I heard it. Astonishing.

By all accounts Labour’s vote has completely collapsed there.

Labour voters need to switch to Green to make sure you get that news on Friday morning.

Fair enough, it would do the same to me.

Surely this was an influence for Reeves and Mortimer’s Mulligan and O’Hare characters.

Of course Gove isn’t going to be on. C’mon.

That couple being Golf Girl and the title track?

Thank you for flagging this up Rob. I spent most of my 20 years in academia researching political protest and opposition in Russia. This is a film that needs to be watched widely.

Seen Georgia three times this year: solo with assistance from Iwan and support from Toby Hay in Shrewsbury; Walled Garden at Green Man; and last weekend at Trawsnewid. Such an engaging and natural performer.

A really good weekend. The theatre was packed for Georgia. She was excellent. My other highlights were Ynys, Melin Melyn and a stripped back Cowbois Rhos Bottwnog. Had a really good natter with Jamal/Don Leisure and he helped me select some old Sain albums at the record fair. Lovely bloke.

Tend to agree but these officials have made some poor decisions. Probably because they’re used to VAR acting as a fallback.
