The hilarious part of this is, if you lived through the 80's and 90's, you know the reason Liberals have a stranglehold on Humanities Funding, is because Conservatives did everything in their power to eliminate public funding of the Arts and Humanities during those decades.
That's not to say I don't think the people making the TNG, DS9, Voy, Ent, era shows didn't love Trek, but there was often a feeling that they were chaffing at what trek was, wanting to do something different. Here, I don't feel that. SFA feels more at home in its Star Trek skin than Voy, or Ent.
The love and care poured into SFA shows in every script, every shot, and every little detail. Its clear that the people making this show *love* Star Trek deeply. I'd say there's more love for Trek present in the crafting of SFA than there was in any of the TNG era shows.
Honestly, so far, Starfleet Academy has had the best opening season of any Star Trek series, except maybe Prodigy. The Pilot is probably the weakest SFA episode so far, and it's an absolute banger. I'm not quite ready to place it above Emissary, but better than any other pilot episode.

Fallen is SUCH an amazing movie. Denzel Washington and John Goodman both turn in amazing performances. Honestly, one of my favorite movies of all time.
There are trans characters in all the books. Transistor and Rhapsody have trans leads. Aether has multiple supporting trans characters. Scatter has a minor trans character that features prominently in later books.
There are 2 spicy scenes in Transistor, and 1 spicy scene in Rhapsody. The one in Rhapsody is a bit spicier than the ones in Transistor, but as spicy scenes go, all three are on the milder end of the spectrum. The spiciest scenes in the series are the 2 spicy scenes in Scatter.
