Now is the time to prepare to not set your house on fire this Thanksgiving.
Replacing black peppercorns with Sichuan peppercorns at The Olive Garden
Made this cute little website over the past month in my spare time. So many fish have been drawn!!! No idea where they're all coming from. A real field of dreams moment :)

@themountaingoats.bsky.social you need to check out @chatpileband.bsky.social, crazy talented Midwest sludge/noise
Or like, PTW and Chat Pile? I dk. It's good.
Oh this fucks. I was listening to Poison the Well this morning and by pure chance come across this, very similar vibes.
I've only found a thread on soyjak.party, some 4chan clone. Who is the attacker?
Is the data online somewhere to explore?
i miss the early internet. people were like βyou gotta see this dude. this cat sure is long.β and they were right. it was really long. it never shoulda gotten any more complicated than that.
After years of sobriety, Santa snapped when 3 ungrateful kids from Bloomington IN asked him for more gifts. Seeing red, he got most of the 5th down before vomiting on the cookies they had left waiting by the chimney. "Are you happy now? Look what you made me do!" Christmas would never be the same.
@iwriteok.bsky.social it was during an episode of BTB. Yall should look into this because it was unsettling to say the least.
Spotify is serving ads for what sounds like a designer puppy mill delivering dogs to people JFC I thought we had put that kind of shit behind us
@iwriteok.bsky.social I'm in the market for a bushwhacking machete and Benchmade have discontinued theirs. In your expert opinion what's the best out there?
@yerufoguy.bsky.social is there a πΈ feed on here yet? UFO Twitter was always a fun read
I have trained GANs from scratch and fine tuned existing diffusion models on my own photography and subsets of it to, for example, make novel pictures of my dogs. This in no way steals from an artist or hinders their livelihood. It's theq wholesale "AI BAD" mentality that I just don't understand.
It was a question, I'm genuinely curious. I've worked in ML/DL for a decade, we don't have true AI, and no one's job is in danger yet. Computers are still dumb af don't worry. Just because an uninformed group freaked out doesn't mean the concerns were warranted.
If a generative model is trained on photographs in the public domain, photographs not copyrighted artwork, and the model generates photorealistic images, how is that stealing? Would you consider sampling by DJs stealing as well?
an mspaint drawing of the famous demon core incident in 1946 where physicist louis slotin carelessly played with a radioactive core in a lab and died as a result. on a wooden stable rests a black stand that holds the bottom half of a beryllium sphere. beryllium acts as a neutron reflector, so they were testing core criticality of a subcritical plutonium mass. the plutonium core had a beryllium sphere lowered atop of it but was supposed to have shims to prevent full closure (and thus, supercriticality). louis slotin, being a dumbass, was fucking around with it using a screwdriver instead as shown. it slipped and resulted in a brilliant blue light of radiation that bathed everyone in the room, including slotin in his iconic blue jeans. i gave him a red shirt as a nod to star trek fans given that he died stupidly. in the drawing, the plutonium core is actually a clock with only the numbers 2, 3, and 9 that are peaking out visible between the hemispheres. clocks are indeed radioactive.
hey guys check this out
"Companies fucking around leaping blindly into the AI hype bubble and finding out they don't have even a tiny fraction of the twisted imaginations necessary to understand what they're unleashing" is my new favorite headline genre
Someone please make a microwave with a spinning faraday cage so I can actually see my food instead of seeing the tiny holes in the shield. Oh yeah, can you model the standing wave for a circular microwave pls
It just occurred to me that eventually, or maybe already, the corpus of alt-text tagged images on here will be a great dataset for text to image models.
