i really enjoy making artist's books
i really enjoy making artist's books
hahaha a friend of mine suggests we have a chicago call-in show
"Ask us A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G about C-P-S"
this would piss CPS off so much if we did this
someone filed a FOIA for my chicago public schools personnel file and i learned that it means cps keeps personnel files for 15+ years
i resigned on january 1, 2010 and kids, always resign on december 31 so you don't have to get another w2 for the next tax season
i wonder who i pissed off
in a city of Black women, this is damning
"the willful subject is under arrest...then to be judged willful is to become a killjoy of the future: the one who steals the possibility of happiness, the one who stops happiness from becoming actual, the one who gets in the way of a happiness assumed as in the way."
"the objects that surround her are objects of hope...
a picture of the time magazine Secretariat cover from June 11, 1973 fazlur khan archives, art institute of chicago
sometimes (always) you go to archives and find delightful unexpected things and you spend your afternoon in the summer of 1973
and it's still relevant because leftist programs have not dealt with misogyny at all, there is no principle to believe women
and there are so many men who stick together in chicago, it's really not great conditions for women organizers
i want better for us!
if a man's relevancy is created on the exclusion of women, it's not relevancy it's abuse
if it seems like there is only one group who knows about automated license plate readers and one press outlet running with their data, that is constructed not organic
it means others have been pushed out, not invited in - designed exclusion
standing on the shoulders of other feminists
it goes right along with this writing
i am reflecting on some things that have occurred over the last few years and what i have been a part of and it's time to bring back out an old piece of writing
naming our collective conditions
this is what I'm saying!!
a beautiful light lined city street in chicago with a pink and orange sunset
chicago sunset, go outside and look west!
as Aspira charters close down, kids are enrolling in area high schools and i'm getting notes about what's gone on with records
kids with disabilities fared poorly at Aspira
and it's possible Aspira was taking in funds for English Language Learners that it shouldn't have, there is a paper trail
plus all the datasharing that goes into grants
from another #FOIA lawsuit, it becomes even clearer that city officials have monthly meetings with federal officials
this is an agenda for police, fire, the fusion center (CPIC), OEMC, FBI, DHS, CDPH and the Loop Alliance
the chicago public/private taskforce, they meet monthly
for all of the yelling about welcoming city ordinances, not helping ICE or the Department of Homeland Security, i would really like people to understand that there are city officials who actively talk to DHS daily
i am not going to discuss the main points of this release online, it's harrowing
i don't think the city has gotten any better at managing itself based on more recent release of records
if we were confronted with a crush load of people who need shelter now, the city of chicago would still flounder
an email from the White House to officials in the City of Chicago to set meetings
the actions of yesterday impact tomorrow, data-sharing meetings scheduled between the City of Chicago, DHS, the State of Illinois, related to asylum seekers
November 11, 2023, post presidential election results
who.eop.gov is White House Office Executive Office of the President email extension
an email from a State of Illinois official on December 17, 2023 Thank you, Tina. As I shared last night, we're hoping to use the vacant strip of land adjacent to the LZ parking lot (attached). Is there a specific POC at AIS I can coordinate with? I will work with Bea and Danielle to schedule a co-design session for this week.
the State stepped in to make a medical intake tent that was heated...in December
LZ means landing zone in this email, and the intake was eventually set up at 800 S Des Plaines
again, only after shelter conditions killed a young boy
a city of chicago attorney quoting the Illinois FOIA statute as a way to avoid personally identifying information to federal government agencies
the ex-budget director, Annette Guzman, goes on to suggest that personally identifying information would be protected from release under FOIA
a city attorney offers a legal argument about avoiding release on FOIA which...
the feds are not submitting FOIAs to the City of Chicago
from a #FOIA lawsuit:
it's clear the City had no idea what it was doing and was not coordinating on very basic things like health intake for asylum seekers, leading to the death of a 5 year old
for grant money, the City shares everything with FEMA, a DHS agency
it has been data-sharing for years
these kinds of veiled sideways attacks are how abusers are; it wouldn't have mattered if you were extra special nice to the host, he would have still found something to make an outgroup of, trying for escaping detection
i gather information so i can write hyper specific insults that usually have an audience of 1 and it's so satisfying

a drawing of a silly goose holding pink, green and blue balloons, repeated 11 times, a dozen silly geese!
we are starting to get documents via FOIA lawsuits
some documents are very hard to read because they document systemic state violence against young people and how the system protects itself at the expense of young people
to keep myself regulated, i take small art breaks
a gaggle of silly geese
