*Cringe* I have started a blog. Thanks @ruthtingay.bsky.social for the encouragement.
The first post looks back at my landmark Supreme Court win last June and the ripple effects it's still having.

Draft letter proposed by Tim Oliver to the Minister of State for Local Government and Devolution. Highlighted passage "I am therefore writing to ask you to exercise your Ministerial powers to lay the necessary legislation to postpone the county council elections in Surrey, which are due to take place in May 2025"
The leader of Surrey County Council wants to delay the local elections in May, so that he has time to work out how to further consolidate his power... I mean, so he can manage the 'unique, significant financial risk of the
level of debt currently held across Surrey local government'

Reigate council spends Β£619K on upkeep of empty commercial properties each year. Maybe local councils should stop pretending to be property developers? Creating even more loss-making charity shops doesn't feel like a great solution, but I don't know what is. www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-...
Who has raised these concerns? The image doesn't make it clear
Reigate! V unusual sustained winds over many hours Saturday plus odd direction from NW later pm .. MetOff has >10hrs of >40mph max gusts enough here to cause tree/fence damage esp after year or so of relatively quiet wind storm wx locally. #StormDarragh weather.metoffice.gov.uk/warnings-and...

Great news: Redhill station has replaced the rain gutters that were leaking all over Platform 2 stairs. Less good news: they still leak

Not true. It was a state school when he went there. While he was there, it became a fee-paying school. All the state school children continued to attend without paying fees. I asked the school directly: x.com/ReigateGramm...

I know. It drives me crazy. Both local and county councils have significant numbers of Green & Labour councillors. I don't understand why they can't resolve it. Local markets are *great*. So are the events in the parks. They *do not need to burn fossil fuel* to make them happen.
Reigate council are still justifying burning fossil fuels at every event in Priory Park. They need to find a way to run these events from the grid. The park is hardly a remote setting.
