I really enjoyed the books when I was younger, but I didn't realise there had been so many written since!
The IMDb score for the series isn't great, but I'll give it a shot.

Terry Pratchett in a blue jacket and Akubra hat holding a young owl for release.

Eleven years since you crossed the black sands. I wish I could say that the world is better than you left it (although it will always be better for having had you in it) but at least there is a new Young Sam to help carry on the Pratchett name and ethos. Love you always ❀️

Something VERY wrong here.

Narratively having Ever Given getting stuck in 2021 to set up Hormuz in 2026 is great foreshadowing. You want your audience to understand the basics of international shipping in a lower stakes context so you drop the real plot without a lot of saggy exposition about the minutiae of cargo logistics.

Send this fucker and all his friends to the front line of Trumps war. See if that softens this buttercup up.

You know the way in Ireland, the phrase, "ah sure it's only around the corner", can mean anything from a 30 second journey, to a journey that might take a couple of hours?

It's a bit like that.

I hear you. We desperately need a higher band for those earning 7 figures or more.

Alternative revenue streams for the council? Definitely.
I'd like to see 0% rates for shops with owner/operators. Chain stores, (including bookies and cafe's) should carry the bulk of rates for everyone for many reasons.

Every which way I've run the numbers, I can't see how this is any way unfair.

4 people earning minimum wage in a house.
The rent is based on the main earner. As above, they pay about €100pw in rent. The others top up the rent by €40 each.
€220 rent a week for 4 earners, bringing in €1960 a week. That sounds more than fair to me.

I think 18% of your take home is more than fair. A lot of private renters are paying 60% or more of their take home income.

Say someone takes home 1050 a week.
First 50 is theirs.
They pay 18% rent on €1000
Their weekly rent is €180.
They keep €870.

That doesn't seem unfair, does it?

The DCC "hikes" seem fair to me.
1 person, earning min wage, take home is about 490 per week.
First 50 is theirs.
They will pay 18% on €440, so around 100.
Leaving them with 390.
Given what rent levels are, I think that's actually a fair price 🀷

If I go through my old posts, will you tell me what you would consider fair?

That's it. For any future comforts and a belief in a good future, we have to invest in the youth. Not just education, but youth clubs, libraries, youth cafe's, youth culture, rehearsal spaces, workshops etc.
One of those frustrating things to spend money on as you may not see results for a while.

12.03.2026 16:09 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Not a hike.
Nobody from the left seems to want to state what a fair rent is for Council accommodation these days

To put it simply, they over invest in the military and under invest in education and society.
To simplify it even further, there's a shit ton of ignorant people in that country.

but all 7? Bybquite a large margin iirc.
2 party systems will never work for the people anyway. Far too easy to buy both of them, which is what happened to the US.
PRSTV all the way, and if you can't understand how it works, you owe society to figure out how to do it.

The results of elections since, have cemented the idea that somehow the 2024 were interfered with. We've seen massive swings in state elections (over 24 points!) towards the Dems. That's just not right, no matter how unpopular the Pres is.
I still can't believe he won all 7 swing States. 4 or 5, ok

12.03.2026 15:56 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

So many problems in the US. I don't believe the voting machines they use are trustworthy for a start.
Give me pencil, paper, an X and time to get the results right any day.
I'm not usually a conspiracy crank, but I still do not believe Trump, with his half empty rallies beat the Democrats.

I only found out the other day that the captain of West Ham is married to Danny Dyers daughter, Dani Dyer.
I can't imagine the family Sunday roasts have been much fun given West Hams appalling form!
