This really resonates - wow. Definitely something to mull over. Is this why you'll never find the Pessoa of the 21st century in indie fiction?

My worry would be with private schools that don't offer any additional support, feeling they don't need to. Pull out support is not always a given, sadly - and neither is push in...
A good day of writing today. 2000 words, a whole story, all in one sitting. It feels good but now here comes the fear - so I'll wait a while before I read what I've got...
And a great one it is!
My first published story of 2025 - thank you @madridlitmag.bsky.social

First reading project of 2025 will be another read of BolaΓ±o's 2666, my all-time favourite book, but this time going through the five parts in reverse order.
Has anyone else done that?
Ooh, a murder mystery set in a book club - that'd be cool...
The first day of the new year is over and I'm still on track with my resolution to write every single day. Just a couple of hundred words, but it's a start!
I hope my fellow writers are doing well too!

I can imagine it as a coffee table book full of poorly designed book covers, with each double page spread offering the original and an improved version...
Ironic then that I would be very tempted to get this book, if it existed.

One of my favourite shots from the weekend - lovely in its minimalism.
Got a minimalist photo on your phone? Why not share it in a reply?
One tree on its own, the sole survivor of a clearance... Does this feel like you sometimes?
I'm not a religious person myself, but there really is something special about how this church in Pisarzowice looks.
I'll keep an eye out on Air B&B... Except by that stage it will be out of my price bracket π
Could well be! Perhaps I was just being optimistic and thinking it would make for an excellent writer's retreat...
I've often passed this gorgeous red house on my walks in the mountains... And I've just as often wondered what it looks like inside.
Winter is properly here now and I'll need to switch to proper boots when I randomly decide to go up into the mountains from now on... Took me half an hour to walk a kilometre downhill!
I've been at work teaching for most of the day - rewarding stuff since my students really are wonderful - but the best thing is to treat myself to a long walk after...
While you're waiting to hear back, why not put something together for the IH Journal? ihworld.com/ih-journal/
I think your analysis makes a lot of sense. This reminds me most of all of Harrowdown Hill by Thom Yorke, so if the parallels are there...
Wonderful, and with Christmas just around the corner too π
Astonishing - after years on the bird platform (as it was) I amassed 250 followers; I've been here a few days and I'm already connected to over a 100 wonderful people. Nice one!
I'm enjoying Come As You Are - I'm learning plenty and I can never say no to books with a pun in the title - www.amazon.co.uk/Come-You-Are...
Calling all language teachers - I'm currently looking for articles to go into the Spring 2025 edition of the IH Journal - ihworld.com/ih-journal/
I'll never tire of the view of these mountains...
I've just started reading Muriel Spark's "A Far Cry From Kensington." I think I'm in love and it's only been 20 pages. I don't think I'll be doing much else today but reading...
