your music will still be discovered the majority of listeners, especially for small artists, are actually just plays from bot networks. this is a particular problem for spotify due to its insistence on having a free ad-supported tier, which opens the floodgate for bots as there is little barrier to entry financially i have taken a hit but we're talking maybe £40 in royalties per year? payout rates have been horrendous and many ppl still on spotify are struggling to get paid regularly
seems its still full steam ahead for daniel ek's monstrous plan to eventually replace human-made music with ai slop (sorry, i meant 'Perfect Fit Content') as editorial playlists and curation features continue to swell with ai generated music and artists spotify is willing to let anyone advertise on their platform, with recruitment adverts from violent armed militias (ICE) being shown to users would i go back? never
