NEW: Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser (D) says Gov Jared Polis (D) offering clemency to Tina Peters "would be a grave miscarriage of justice and dangerous for free and fair elections."
According to the governor’s spokesperson, no action has been taken re: Peters. His office adds that Polis is not considering a pardon, but commutation remains on the table.
While I do believe this is a well researched, realistic , reasonable portrait it is fiction or as the author chose to categorise it “hypothetical / creatime nonfiction”.

Strongly recommend this excellent piece. It actually understates the US failure: Brazil and S. Korea aren’t outliers. Quite the opposite. Since 2010, 31 democracies have convicted or banned leaders from office. Accountability is the democratic norm. America is the sole outlier.
