Important thread.
"We just need to listen/be kind/work together..." etc
Sounds sooo easy right?
When we treat these qualities as easy, we risk misunderstanding what's really involved, & risk feeling like we've personally failed when we find it's more of a struggle than it sounds. The reality is way more complex.
Damning verdict on England social care as peer says system needs a 'reckoning'.
22 major reviews over 3 decades. Govts do nothing.
No integrated healthcare system. Social care privatised. Corporations profiteering. Public money buys less. Govt handing the NHS to them as well
End privatisation.

Only 25% of the white electorate in Gorton & Denton voted Reform. Farage may as well complain that the election was βstolenβ by white Britons who didnβt vote at all, or who voted against bigotry.
What's an alternative approach? Gradually nurturing conditions for people to participate, share diverse views, grow relationships & listen to each other. In these conditions, a complex system may become healthier & progressive. But it's much more organic/evolving, rather than directed/controlled 2/2
I've come to understand that attempting to promote some kind of simplistic 'culture change' in a complex system like healthcare is pretty much a waste of time. Things like 'raising awareness', campaigns, 'improvement' initiatives- they don't sustain. This just isnt how change works 1/2
As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. Itβs often said you never know when youβre living through history, so let me assure you: thatβs whatβs happening now.

This is a really thought provoking conversation about social justice, political philosophy Rawls and Aristotle.
'Small but perfectly formed introduction to mindfulness of the breath as a path to easing life's struggles. The author has a great reputation in the field of secular mindfulness and know's his stuff. The book may be short, but is has hidden depth..'

This is completely false from Milburn. He's supposed to be reviewing this issue and he's just making things up. Inexcusable.
