I know it's only for like, two cutscenes as far as I'm aware but god I cannot stand the straight ass bobcut that the childhood version of the male protag has in MHS3

This exactly. Either it's an oversight, the game is implying that the protag is adopted, or secret third option (Which I don't wanna think of either) but it legit bothers me.
