Even so, that time is paid instead of base pay. You can’t add it and say I’m getting an additional 3-4 weeks pay on top of salary.
They charged us $60 a month to park on land they owned and called it a benefit, as if they were subsidizing metered downtown parking rates.
It made our “total compensation” like double our salary.
When I worked for a hospital, they would give us a “total benefit statement” every year. It added dollar values to our base salary. Health insurance and such, cool. Sick days, FMLA, jury pay, vacation, as if those were paid in addition to salary. Lunch, breaks, work comp insurance, payroll taxes.
