Reports from Gaza confirm that people are now literally dying of starvation.
Western leaders have issued words of condemnation, but words are not enough. They have the power to stop this genocide now.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

When you are out of touch with the facts and the scientists and beloved by the Tories and Reform on energy policy, you should probably take a crash course on developments in the last decades.
Or the explantion is simpler.

Air pollution graphics for central Paris between 2007 and 2023.
Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years as a result of a deliberate strategy. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.socialβs leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people.
Good trade.
So far, the Trump administration has provided only weak evidence that any of the men condemned to a foreign prison notorious for human-rights violations was guilty of anything. The administrationβs defense of its actions, according to the declaration made by an ICE official, Robert Cerna, is that βthe lack of specific information about each individual actually highlights the risk they pose. It demonstrates that they are terrorists with regard to whom we lack a complete profile.β In other words, the lack of evidence against these men is just further proof that theyβre guilty.
I keep coming back to the insanity of this statement from an ICE official, which would sound like something out of 1984 except lacks Orwell's sense of irony and self-awareness www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

If they're criminalizing people who are against this, they will absolutely criminalize people who are against the destruction of our planet. See y'all in El Salvador.

Fossil-fuel companies with the greatest emissions in 2023: State Owned: Saudi Aramco Coal India CHN Energy Jinneng Group National Iranian Coal Investor Owned: Exxon Mobil Chevron Shell Total BP
Look carefully: these are the companies that we must force governments to dismantle if our kids are going to have a mostly habitable planet.
Newer AI models appear more likely to indulge in rule-bending behaviors than previous generationsβand thereβs no way to stop them.

For speech to be free it must equally apply to those you disagree with.

Loved talking #AIgovernance and its parallels to climate governance at the @bennett-innovate.bsky.social Institute for Innovation and Policy Acceleration launch yesterday. Hearing so many smart people speak about their work made me (slightly) more optimistic about our future π

As someone who has reported on AI for 7 years and covered China tech as well, I think the biggest lesson to be drawn from DeepSeek is the huge cracks it illustrates with the current dominant paradigm of AI development. A long thread. 1/
